Guitar Hero or Rockband?

Myself, I prefer Guitar Hero. Rockband is a little annoying to maintain control of the whole entire game, when Guitar Hero is just one or two guitars. Also because of the fact that Rockband kinda ripped off GH.

What do you think?

It's hard to compare them. Rock Band's more of a party game, while Guitar Hero is more (for me at least) about getting high scores and stuff. (Although I know a lot of people don't see GH like that.)

I wouldn't consider RB ripping off GH, seeing that it was made by the same people.

I wouldn't say they copied eachother at all. I love GH, but I hate almost everything about Rock Band. The guitar(s) are abysmal, the mic is pretty much broke(I had a semi-pro singer try it and failed on medium), and the drum pedal is made to where you almost have to keep it in your lap to reach the foot pedal. With a few decent songs added to a lot of shovelware, I don't see why it's popular, outside of people thinking it's better than GH. Kinda like how Wii Play is selling so much.

That sounds like you're either abnormally tall or abnormally short; I can't figure out which. The foot pedal is one of the only things they did right with the drums.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

I agree with Capt. I was sort of disappointed by the drums. One because I can't sightread worth a crap, two because they felt awkward.

Funny. I'm the same height and I reach the pedal just fine.

Considering the track list from GH3 was so abysmal I'm going for Rock Band, either way its more fun because you can play with more people.

Easy: Rock Band. Four different instruments to play (drums rock my anus), the song list I personally feel is much more refined than the Guitar Hero series (and downloadable song packs are always great), generally more my genre of music can be found on Rock Band compared to the GH series (although Madhouse for GH2 reminds me well of my great upbringing \m/.)

Also, one big point with me in choosing Rock Band over GH is you can create your own character. I like creating people. It's a perfectionist hobby of mine.

A big setback with me for GH3 is that, it seems damn near all of the note charts for the higher difficulties have notes thrown all over the damn place to make it harder for the GH wankers. When I play a song, I actually want to feel like I'm playing the song.. note for note, or at least as close as a video game lets you. GH3 didn't do that for me at all.

^ Don't judge by a demo, it has more songs, and the demo doesn't even have the pedal.

I like Rock Band because at least I can find one thing I am good at, and can play well consistently.

I prefer Rock Band, but maybe because just playing the guitar got banal, and I recently got Rock Band pretty for the drums.

The Rock Band Strat feels better made to me than the GH3 guitar, and the ability to sing/play drums appeals to me.
