Rock Band: The Beatles

It's apparently in the story mode going to follow their career in some way, that's just a rumor from what I know though.

Yeah, it sounds vaguely interesting.

More substance to it than most Rock Band games, eh?

Now I should see some LPs of this, since it's highly unlikely I go and buy it. >.>

Although I am a big fan of the Beatles, I wasn't too interested in the game...until I played "Here Comes the Sun" at GameStop the other day. Everything in the game works so well together. The stylized versions of the band look great and act realistically. I gotta get this.

This game would probably be my best chance of ever getting interested in Rock Band/Guitar Hero-type games. It looks pretty sweet.

God knows I love games based on music I am completely alien to which was made before my mom was even born. =P

If it does have a good, chronological story which follows the events of their career faithfully, it would be interesting from a gameplay perspective.

I'm pretty sure you can use either guitar with either game. I kind of doubt you can use the Guitar Hero drum set with Rock Band though. I'm pretty certain you can use the Rock Band drum set with Guitar Hero.

Got a chance to play it at Wal-Mart yesterday. The lack of audio feedback is...disorienting to say the least. And some jerk working at a counter nearby got mad & told me to turn down the volume, even though I hadn't turned it up; it was just where the staff had set it to begin with.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

I finally played it this weekend. It was a lot of fun. The guitar and drum parts are considerably more exciting than you might think, and doing vocals is just awesome. I didn't get to do harmonies yet, unfortunately.

The great thing about doing a Beatles version is that almost every song is great. (That said, the inclusion of I Want You (She's So Heavy) is... somewhat dubious.)

I mean it's cool to have in the background or something while you're doing your homework or browsing the internet... but as a Rock Band track? It just drags on. I think the drums might be more fun than the guitar though, I got stuck with the latter when we played it. So repetitive.

Wal-Mart is full of jerks. That's why I quit.

One word: Harmonies.

Best part of the game. Playing this with a group of theater kids who have good ears makes for epic harmonies. :{D

Seconded. Either way, me being a major fan of the Beatles, I had to pick up this game. It was extremely well put together, with enough great and memorable numbers to make it well worth the 60 dollars.

I played bass on it; I thought it was a nice endurance test.

If you're into that. I played the game again, and I will say that the bass parts are pretty fun in general. Better than most standard RB bass parts.

The harmonies are cool but we had some trouble with them. And yes, the people who I was playing with can sing and know the Beatles. You don't really notice the harmonies in a lot of songs so we had to sort of figure them out on the fly. In the ones where the harmonies are noticeable though (say, Octopus' Garden or Back in the USSR) they are totally awesome to sing.

Bump because I rented the game recently and...wow.
I've been a big fan of the Fab Four since I was 9, and the game definitely does the band justice. It's amazingly accurate, the songs are fun to sing, and just exudes a great Beatles vibe off of it.
I especially liked the presentation of the cutscenes in story mode (especially the intro and ending), which helped the feeling of following them through their career. I didn't feel like I was a member of the band like in regular Rock Band, but I did feel closer to the Beatles, if that makes any sense.
My only criticism is the game's length, but the band as shown in the game only lasted six years, so I guess it makes sense.
