I realize this topic is outdated and the member who posted it is no longer present, but would this sort of 'phone-a-friend' summoning be permitted by mutual consent with any member, in any topic? Or is this an exception?

I'm pretty sure we permitted this because Wyborn was a grade-A badass, but it is a generally great idea to be able to 'summon' someone (unless your opponent says otherwise) to attack for you when you don't have the time or creativity. So sure, depending on the situation, it's perfectly fine.

Yeah, this was back when Wyborn was still here. Now that he's gone, it's like calling an out-of-business pizza shop and trying to order pizza.

There was this one pizza shop by where I used to live that ruled, that got closed, so I can relate.
