| Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2001 Location: Planet Draco Gender: Posts: 6,038 Thanks: 67 Thanked 36 Times in 29 Posts | a challenge to kargath... since you can't seem to stop badmouthing my writing style and character, why don't we battle since I've NEVER seen you fight except for last year. the school of older battlefielders versus the newer school of battlefielders, let's just see who's school of fighting is better damage based or writing based. but let's make this a bit more interesting, if I win, you have to publicly appologise for your insulting remarks about my writing style and my character Inferno and admit that script is a perfectly acceptable format for writing as far as battles go, but if you win I'll shut up about this matter forever and let you continue to decieve these people into thinking that you're the god of judging things. I want three judges I know I can trust to give a fair and unbias ruling on this match. I want Joker, Galefore, and SD to judge this. I'd like a 1-10 rating from each judge with constructive criticism on how we can improve and I want this to be judged on both writing and damage. this will settle this thing once and for all. The rules for this battle will be the current battle rules of the gunjin AS THEY ARE STATED IN THE RULES TOPIC! if either of us breakes ANY of these rules then the rule breaker will automaticly loose. also the judges will not tolerate any cheapness (I.E. brain destruction, decapatation, basicly anything that can't be survived.) the battlefield will be... The Floating Kingdom A true castle in the clouds, the Dragon King Inferno's palace in the sky. His palace is a golden castle that shines in the sky on a floating island with a highly technological city of gold just outside the castle walls. inside the palace, platinum statues stand of former kings and great dragons that have defended the planet of Draco in the past in the entrance hall and throne room. The entrance hall is a grand testimate to the race of dragons with the royal dragonic banner draped around the room several times on the walls emblazoned on purple tapestries. A grand twin stairway with crimson carpet that lead up to the giant doors to the throne room. The throne room is where the dragon king goes to think and ardess his family and court. This room is adourned with silk tapestries of Planet Draco's history and a pair of platinum thones for Inferno and his bride Flair. The halls of the palace are gold like the exterior with over 1,000,000 rooms throughout the palace, many of which have not been entered since the first tour of the palace given by King Draco back when construction had just finished. you can use any character you wish from any show, game, book, movie, anime or even your own. I don't care what character my opponent is as long as I'm facing you kargath. My character will be Inferno to show you he's better than you keep saying he is. I hope you don't object to these stipulations Kargath. After all, if I'm as bad of a writer as you say I am, and you're as good of a writer as you claim to be then you shouldn't have any trouble defeating me right? I just want this matter settled once and for all, and this battle will do it since we can't seem to talk this out peacefully through PMs. plus, if I lose to you it will be that "harder fall" you threatened me with. I'll post my intro after you accept Kargath, I'll be waiting. Last edited by Inferno Dragon; 05-06-2008 at 02:27 AM. |

Inferno, between judging the NLBFT, working at my full-time job, and writing my novel, I really don't have the time for this. I don't really see the appeal in it for myself, either. In addition, I suggest you re-read the NLBFT chat topic: http://www.vgf.com/forums/gunjin-bat...thread-22.html and the topic spawned from Selene's textwall: http://www.vgf.com/forums/gunjin-bat...s-we-have.html for why I don't battle here, and don't care for the current ruleset. Basically, if the rules are adhered to strictly, any fight based purely on damage will result in a stalemate until one fighter withdraws. Maybe sometime in the far, far future I might consider it. If it happened, I would want to see a battle based upon literary skill (both technical and narrative-based). Seeing whether you could produce your own, wholly original character would be interesting too. ---------------- PS: Quote:

| Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2001 Location: Planet Draco Gender: Posts: 6,038 Thanks: 67 Thanked 36 Times in 29 Posts | it's not about the judging, this is about him insulting me, insulting script writers everywhere, accusing me of plagiarism and threatening me. I've had enough of him being an ass and it's time he answered for this ****! you're nothing but a bully and a coward kargath! you're just like the bullies I had to deal with on a daily basis growing up, singleing me out and attacking me, in this case it's for my character and my writing style, then trying to save face when I confront you about your bull **** acting all innocent in front of everyone else when you know exactly what you've done! if you were a real fighter you'd accept this simple challenge I put forth to you, we're being judged on both damage AND writing 5 points for each. until you proove that you are a better fighter than me with these rules you have no right to tell me what characters and format I can and can't use as a fighter! How goddamn old are you. Will somebody please lock this poor excuse for a moment's distraction before I just ass-whoop everyone in here? And stop sucking script-format's dick - script format only works when there is a production made from it - unless your ****ing Goku character is going to star in a play, that we have immediate access to, we need more ****ing prose description in your posts. I repeat - SCRIPT FORMAT IS USELESS WITHOUT A PLAY OR MOVIE OR WHATEVER TO MAKE UP FOR THE VISUAL ABSENC. That's why it pisses off everyone here - because we don't have a play or whatever the hell to show us what's happening. And before defending script format, I suggest you peruse through a couple of actual movie scripts and get yourself an idea of how much description is actual in one. |

I visit here sometimes with intentions on battling but I look at how descriptive other writers are and it intimidates me. When I look at some of these posts, I feel like I'm obligated to write a novel just for a few kicks and punches. Seeing as I'm not the English major, I'm not nearly as good as some of the members are on this forum, but that shouldn't stop me or anyone else from having the desire to write a story about their imaginary characters. If people don't prefer someone's writing style, then they simply don't fight that person. | |

I've honestly had enough of both of you. I could call into question Inferno's lack of backbone to admit he needs to try and improve a bit and I could call into question Kargath's desire to insult the way I run things (as well as seeming to think he can deduct several points for a trivial matters such as editing a typo), but I think all of those things have been addressed and we no longer need this bull****. I'm not letting this become like last year or the 8th NLBFT. If you guys continue to stir up commotion, I'll merely cut the offenders from the tournament (and that means any of you) and continue. Inferno: I'd love to judge one of your fights some other time, but don't try this anymore. When you call into question somebody who is all but convinced, you cause trouble. Karg: I understand your qualms with everyone and your points have been valid, albeit curt, since we started. I would, however, prefer you not to call my ways incorrect anymore. My intentions were well-based. Erdawn: Even if people seem to disagree with you, you've got a point, and you've always had one. Although I'm neutral on script subject, I prefer to not see it abused. Blake: Good counter-point, but do not be intimidated. Don't feel obligated to write a novel just because some of our members are quite verbose. Just roll with the punches and write whatever you want to counter. |
