Gender: Posts: 9,544 Thanks: 175 Thanked 150 Times in 120 Posts | OoC I got an idea for a two on two the other day and decided to post it and see how it went. I'm sorry if the cage match setting isn't done to well but I'm yping spur of the moment here. The two teams or IRHP and myself agenst whoever dedides to join in. Rules limted healing mean two light or moderate healing tiems per fighter other then that standered Gunjin rules apply, the opposing team get to have the first strike. Inside a condemned where house littered with crates a large crowd begins to gather. The darkness of the dreary setting is only just kept back by the few flickering lights, their droning hum is swallowed up be eager mutterings of the shifty and suspicious looking masses. The masses have gather around a large makeshift arena of sorts. The arena is roughly thrice the size of a boxing ring flattened cardboard boxes have been laid out as a type of padding and if one paid attention the boxes were covered with bloodstains in a few select places. Only the haphazardly constructed fence surrounding the large area keeps the crowds back. In the center of the ring stands a tall thin man wearing a tattered suit coat, a white tank top and faded black slacks. He clears his throat and silence soon follows, allowing his voice to carry better. “Greetings fight fans I hope that you’re ready for tonight’s match! After listing to your suggestions we’ve decided to hold a team match tonight in the black cage!” The apparent commentator stopped to allow for cheers and shouts to ring out for a few moments. “Get ready to place your bets as we’ve taken our four most infamous fighters and split them up into two teams for your viewing pleasure!” He was once more forced to end his speech as the restless crowd got more excited and a frenzy of speculation began. As if on cue the lights began to flicker more visibly then normal. Some even burst as the shorted out once the darkness was cleared thanks to replacements being installed three figures could be seen walking to the arena. The figures on the right and left were large men in black suits they almost seemed to have stepped out of the prohibition era. It was the figure in the middle that excited the crowds most. He was a very tall man standing at six feet seven inches. The first thing that drew attention was the large white trench coat that he worn, next came the large brown messenger bag, then blue undershirt, following that his olive drab pants and finally his brown runners shoes. His clothing was frayed and tattered in numerous places sighs that it was most lightly his only set and the fights he had been in was doing it no good. His black hair was rapidly graying, most likely from stress, it was matted up and looked like it hadn’t been washed in days. Soon he was forcibly thrown into the arena by his escorts. while they left to promptly turn around and left to gather the other contestants for the match The tall competitore slowly climbed to his feet and wearly walked up to the center of the arena. The commentator spoke up once more. ”Here’s our first competitor now! You’ve seen him absorb every hit lethal or otherwise like a sponge, I give you Lawrence the living sandbag Williams!” after he finished speaking the cheering reached a fevered pitch. Odds were shouted with improved vigor and bets were enthusiastically made. After a few moments the commentator once more cleared is throat as a call to order and spoke up once more. Ooc Sorry to cut off like that but i figured each participent would like to setup thier own introduction. |

"Our secound competitor, we have the man whose voice brings the rise and fall of empires. Unflinching, with courage beyond a hundred lions, and a real hit with the ladies. The song founder, Lord Blood flute, Taleth "Barksbane" Dolumberist." A step rang out as Taleth walked forward. This one did not even bring any pretense of hiding who he was, easily recognizable by any that even glanced at him. At five feet and twice again in inches, he was not particularly tall, but short would not be a word commonly associated with him. His clothing was silk. Everything in silk. All in deep rich colors. Coat, chemise, undershirt, trousers, belt, socks all of it silk. Then there was his cloak. It's drew the eye like few others. At first glance it was a simple garment, yet only at first glance. As the secound reveled it to be of another color. Reds, browns, blues, greens, pinks, it ran threw the lot of them shifting from one color to the next the the slightest ripple in it. The man's walk The two that escorted him barely registered in the eyes of the crowd. He leaped onto the bloodstain cardboard with ease, his cloak billowing out dramatically, ruffling as caught by a strong gust. Indoors were they're was no wind. and then Lawrence noticed his footwear, Pink fuzzy slippers. Piecing blue eyes reflected the slight curve of his lips, a small tiny smile. He knew something nobody else did, and the notion entertained him. |

He has a staff in his left hand, held defensively and his right hand on his gun which is still holstered. His obviously wanna-be dramatic entrance failed to capture he imagination and everyone merely was silent. He went into he ring and stared at his odd company. He smirked a them and waited for a signal to begin. |

Fine, I'll take you both on solo if I need be. Let us dance . Taleth's voice came low and soft, almost as signing a lullaby, yet perfectly audible to all. "Dance, little lady, dance." Suiting his on words, he danced forward. A few steps and Fox found himself coupled with the silk adorned man. Confused he followed his body reacting by pure instinct. It mattered little how long it would have taken him to recover from the shock, they're dance did no go on long enough to allow it. A-one two three, and hurl. All in one fluid motion. Fox found himself full bodily thrown straight into Lawrence, with Taleth in an exaggerated flourish at the other side of the "ring". He danced forward again, pink slippers gently taping the cardboard. All the while he hummed along with his steps, all in perfect rhythm. |

He gave himself a Mission. Win. Fox adjusted his body just before contacting Will and slammed his feet into Will's chest, launching himself into the dancing, one-man wrecking crew. With as much force as he could muster, he raised his staff high and slammed it straight down into his target's skull. Immediately upon landing, with lightning speed, Fox drew his gun and crammed the weapon into Taleth's gut and fired a volley of blasts. |

Sorry I would have replied sooner but I was enjoying the Black fryday maddness. Will quickly rose to his feet, then with a preperation that came from decades of mastery he had his sling loaded and fired, the large marble round rockted across the arena and struck the chainlink fence less than an inch from Taleth's head drawing the attantion of the other two fighters. Will just sighed tiredly,"Well lets get this over with, once this fight's done my contract here is finished." He muttered aloud barely audible above the roaring crowd. |

Gender: Posts: 6,130 Thanks: 2 Thanked 37 Times in 25 Posts | A staff blow to the head would normally have given one pause, any blow to the head would, yet Taleth's rhythm was never interrupted. Step one, step two, step three, repeat then mix it up a bit. As fox fired his blaster, Taleth turned, most of the energy bolts grazing instead of doing far more damage. Something silvery gold shined beneath the now charred silk. One of Taleth hand grasped fox blaster and threw him in one direction and twisted, while fox's body wanted to go another. A slight discomfort, but nothing more. Then the dancer's palm struck the bipedal fox in the elbow. Such strain already put on the joint the result was a predictable sickening sound as Fox's arm bent the wrong way. The canine howled in pain as he released his weapon, and Taleth scooped it up as Lawrence's projectile whizzed by his skull. He ignored it as one would fly. "Come tonight, come to ogre battle fight!" He voice rang out. Said voice resonating with power. Power from a time far beyond that known by man, as old as time itself. Fox's blaster, in Taleth hand, leveled with his skull. BLAM! The orange fox ducked out of the way, and kept running avoiding seemingly random blaster fire. Fox snapped his arm back into place. It was still ruined, but it hurt far less and would not get worse. Taleth never stopped dancing, always moving, his cloak billowing behind, to the side, around, impairing sight to just exactly what his next step would be. Constantly firing the stolen weapon towards fox, Taleth glided ever so closer to Williams. Never standing still, never giving him a clean shot. One particular obscuring flourish of his cloak as he danced, and a long thin rapier was in his hand. Where it had been before hand was not important, what was is that the weapon was now in play. Nothing particularly interesting or odd about it, but then again even the simplest of weapons could prove fatal. The rapier became a part of the dance, much as the blaster had become. Taleth looked happy, just enjoying a nice dance, blood trickling down from his scalp along the side of his face. |

He knew he was strong, that he had his gun and that his own arm hurt like hell; and that was enough to make him take the defensive. Fox was being shot at and Will was being closed in on. Fox needed to turn the tables for a moment. He stopped dodging and used a shield, sending a blast back at Taleth, grazing his right side. Taleth seemed to wince but kept toward Will but stopped shooting. Fox made a blinding dash attack, covering ground fast, sending Taleth straight upward. |

Seconds after he moved will was quite glad that he did as the gracefull movements of his attacker commenced even whil in mid air. He considered himself quite lucky that he had evaded the plaster fire. Plasma based weaponry was an annoyeced he delt with many times, it always took so long to heal from those type of wounds. Thinking quickly will fired off two rounds from his sling, The first struck the odd stalf weapon that his teammate had held a while ago. Because of the angle that it was struck at it was luanched high into the air and was sent sailing roughly to Fox's position. The second shot witch was made on the run was sent tword Taleth's hand specificly the one that held the stolen blaster pistal. Will didn't expect his shot to hit home instead it was ment as a distraction, so when the large prjectile missed he was not surprised. Instead he desided to take a page from Taleth's book and kept himself mobile. Rather than waste ammo he opted to used the thick braided burlap of his sling as a whip and thus kept his right hand ready to sna his wrist in the appropreate way. His left hand snaked inside his bag and began to search for the two tonics he kept on hand. Should things go according to plan he would edge himself as close to his brash team mate as he dared and toss him a tonic. he knew that he wasn't a close range type and that his best bet for comming out of this fight in relitivly good condition was his team mate. |

He adjust his trajectory slightly, He propelled himself downwards with a simple thought. Magic, and magical belongings were a handy thing to have. Fox suddenly was moving out of his way as fast as possible. After all, Dolumberist held a rapier. Already turning to fight fox was glad he had moved out of the way. He found himself ducking from another blaster shot, Taleth tossing aside the worthless hilt of his weapon. The blade being embedding withing the cardboard, and the concrete beneath. A few more well aimed blaster shots later, and fox found himself next to Williams. The was a low laugh from deep within his throat as he tossed to blaster forward. He opened he mouth, and then he shouted. No appreciable sound came forth, but the result were obvious. Cardboard flew, concrete shattered, the blaster was ruined, and bother fox and Lawrence were struck with sound pressure the like to liquefy bones from prolonged exposure. Prolonged it was not as they were sent flying back against the cage. Taleth danced forward, pink slippers daintily moving around the bigger chunks of debris, a hand behind his cloak ready to pull out a little trick or surprise. |

But he had a partner...he already, basically, drop-kicked him, could he use him again? No, that'd be wrong. Mid thought, Will produced a tonic, which Fox immediatly utilized, without a word. Fox's arm felt better and Will gave a forced grin. Taleth was too close and they were cornered. Fox utilized his dash again but Taleth sidestepped, slashing Fox's face with his rapier and kicking him in the ribs. Fox bounced across the ring. |

He then slowly advanced to standing fully upright, though soon learned that his balnce was shot for the moment. Thus he had to relay on the hastly assembled chainlink fence to keep himself upright. While muttering to himself that the supplies he was promised were not worth the pain these fights caused will loaded andother round into his sling. Stepping forword and firring off his shot in one motion. Will allowed himself to fall backword into the fence again and used it to support himself as he slunk away from Taleth. For once luck was with Will as the heavy stone projectile rockted forword and smashed into Taleth's right kneecap with a sickening crack. While the shot didn't shatter his oponets knee as was his intent it would most definetly slow him down some. As he continuted to slide along the parimiter of the ring he could only hope that his partner could make use of this limited opertunity. |

It broke and he threw it away... however... there is what he was reaching for. That would do the job quite well. Oh yes, yes it would. The Barksbane was a frightening weapon. At first glimpse it had the shape of a simple axe. But then one notice the teeth on said axe. Much like part of a demented rotary saw that would be at home in some sort of hellishly efficient and vicious lumber mill. The haft of the weapon was a twisted sicken branch with notches and scuffs and scratches aplenty, as if a wild beast had ripped it from a diseased tree and gnawed the bark away. Even the meeting of steel and wood was a a cruel sight as it seemed the balancing weight was simply forced threw the wood and no longer able to go out. A blunt weight. All in all, not a very nice weapon. One with a few drop of blood on one of the teeth made to cut, tear, shred, and chop in one swift motion. Fox's were oh so softer then bark, and it was no soft birch that this axe was crafted to chop. Tale rose unsteadily from having his leg suddenly taken from under him. So, they were finally starting to work together, or was it just a fluke? One to distract and the other to get a clear shot. No matter, Barksbane in one hand, the other behind his back reaching for another tool Taleth danced towards Lawrence. A bit of a hitch in his step from an injured knee, but a elegant dance in perfect rhythm none the less. Fox was down for the moment, and he would be dealt with soon enough. He knew how this worked. Always go for the healer first. Williams dove out of the way as the axe came in a swift chop. The metal fence screeched as the axe tore threw it with little regard and almost lodged itself in Willams shoulder. Almost meaning his flesh did not offer enough support for the two teeth that bit in shallowly. Rolling back to his feet Williams found a bit a hitch in his slinging arm. Taleth dance forward, his methodical chops incorporated in it. Will was just a particularly fleshy tree that needed to be brought down. |

Fox didn't find it very pleasant to be kicked aside like trash. He decided it was time for a combo attack. Will was dodging Taleth and then seen Taleth get blasted in the back with fire. Will didn't question Taleths split-second pause and ran at Fox. Taleth was merely stunned by the heat blast, but, was nearly brought to one knee. With a certainty in his shaky voice, Fox said, "Get a powerful hit ready, he's ours." |

The first was to promptly raise an eyebrow in a rather sarcastic way, as for the second part he quickly moved his last tonic from his messenger bag to a large pocket in his pants. He quickly began to swing the bag full of sling ammo in large circles with his left hand, the remain rounds colliding noisly together. "I really hope you're right about this kid." Will sighed. Then he turnned to fox and quickly whispered "Whatever attacker you're planning release it after mine, while I'm best at long range combat I can take a hit so use the distraction i'm about to cause to the best of your ability." Fox was stunned by will's odd and possibly suisidale plan. However before he could prrotest, Will relased the large bag with expert timing it rocketed through the air and smashed heavily into Taleth's chest winding him, and if thesound caused by the impact was any indecation possibly dameging a rib or two. Only seconds after he let go of his bag will wobly dashed after it still shaky from the sonic attack, his right arm was fairly stiff due to the damege his shoulder took but he had enough leway to pop his sling like a whip. Knowing that he was going to take a big hit from this Will desided to make the best of it. As he charged at Taleth his right hand poised to strike, he had two goals in mind and he would acheave one. Either he would dash up and grab his bag thus buying fox some needed time to plan or he would present himself as a living training dummy. After all mortality wasn't an issue to him, and the sooner this fight was over the soon he could collect his payment and move on. |

He staggered back to his feet, hooked his axe upon his chest, and tore off his ruined shirt. Scorched and torn already it was worthless. His armor glimmered in the low light of the area. Impossibly fine chain of silver and gold perfectly woven into a mesh. It had not cast a single bulge withing his clothing, nor would it ever. Yet it did barely anything to protect him from having his ribs broken. It was no fault of the armor, chain was simply not designed to offer protection against blunt force. The pain in his left side flared with every raspy breath. He breathing might be hampered, but his voice still came out strong, powerful and fierce. He was not yet done. Far from it. "That's what the minstrel sing, Join in the horrible screams. Take part in murderous deeds, renowned be the lion hearted. " Williams was treated to a strange sight, as his opponent drew a cylindrical object from behind his cloak. A weapon judging by the pair of protruding spikes. No, a single spike split in half with it's middle bored out in the entire length. More hole doted what could be called the handle of the weapon. Then those holes looked very familiar. A flute? What might of once been fine silver was drenched and stained in dark browns, yellows and red. Blood, that of more then one being at that. Blood flute, much like Barksbane, were not simple titles with this man. They were also his weapons born of the necessity needed in the deeds those title were birthed. "Join in the minstrelsy, wailing in endless grief. It eagerly longs for more, broken bodies lay on the ground." Taleth's foot scooped up the heavy bag of stone that had struck him moments ago. He lifted his leg and Williams charged, and Lawrence found himself already cringing as the only one in armor twisted his body. The slippers were a hot pink blur as Taleth's leg whipped around and launched the bag forward, and down. Will's leg went froward. His ankle fought the heavy bag, and lost. He tripped, and ankle ruined. No sooned had the bag left then Taleth dance forward once again. The quick primal dance of a savage. Powerful, and full of vigor. Even hurt as he was, Taleth's rhythm was perfect. "Blood shed all over the place, the green shall be stained forever. As hate reigns all over the field, they keep struggling on in anger." The barksbane trailed to his side as he passed Lawrence. It casually tore threw him .and the straps of his messenger bag.the human punching bags flesh and cloth covering offering no resistance the dwarf forged axe. Blood dripped off the axe as Taleth came towards Fox. Whatever the furry one was planning, it needed to be good, as Taleth's axe was coming for his head. One simple swift angle cut, the likes to tear halfway threw a thick redwood. After all, his name implied the ancient work and right of passage of his kin. His cloak flared out and grew streaming behind Taleth and his very presence was enhanced,an air of greatness beyond that of mortal men. A king among peasants. "Fiercely intense, outrageous, to blind to see, and pain they keep on signing. We claim the land for the high lord. God bless the land and the High Lord." |

But the show, as simple as his plan may be, must go on. Fox dashed behind Taleth, just out of reach of his weapon. Fox used his Ice Blaster. The staff put forth a freezing magic, encasing Taleth in an icy prison. "Dance now!" Just as Fox mocked him, he noticed time was short. Taleth's efforts of escape could be sensed and Fox charged his most powerful kick, flinging hin at Will. "Do something NOW!" Fox sounded almost scared, as if he were begging Will to move. |
