OOC: I thought it might be about time to revive this...
* A bleak field filled the eyes for as far as one could see. It was brown, and the stench of vacant emptiness could be sniffed; it was dust. A few vultures called in the distance; this was the field where people came to die. But it hadn't been used in so long... what was once known as Hyrule battlefield, where many warriors fought to the death, and many a famous person arose, was dead as well. Only a few old bones of people whose names had faded from time itself were left; a few skinny, dying trees were around its perimeter. And onto it walked a man wearing a continuous suit of shiny steel. A cybernetic suit. He kneeled in the middle of it all, feeling as if his homeland was truly dead.*

"I come to the origin of my existance to pay homage to those who have died here... and to the field where no one fights anymore. May there be new life in this place, brought... by the blood of those who I can fight here. Can there be... another reign?"

* He got up... the wind blew. Not even a tumbleweed blew by; only the acrid dust of the dead. This place might fade out of existance altogether; the realm was without people, and the old legends had passed from it long ago. Five years had passed since his inexplicable appearance here... and yet, it was all he had, for he had no decipherable past besides this. And for what? It was dead. He was nearly unique, and without a home... angry, he got out his laser pistol and began shooting down trees. *

"It's not fair! Why did I have to exist... what could this mass of nothing mean to me? It is too late to discover the truth... everything I remember here is gone..."

* He eventually calmed down, and then stared across the field... it was so lonely that his act of anger was unseen. However, it looked like someone could be walking in... could it be someone he knew? *

A lazer blast scoured into one of the rotting trees, releasing a shower of bark as it made its way back to the ground, to start anew to attempt to bring life back to the field that until recently was still drowned by a new World. Those days were long gone, and now this cemetary of the old days stood as a testament to that -- to what was once, and what could no longer be had.
But that wasn't what Metal Man was looking at. He had been firing left and right at trees, and only this one seemed to release a flicker of shadow, that leaped to another tree that still stood upright, creaking under its weight as the foliage barely supported it.
~My, now,~ a voice as smooth as silk weaved through the field, ~Aren't we delightfully emotional there? What's todays term for such an angsting soul? Emo?~
Metal man growled at the voice, not remembering its tones. This was not a veteran he remembered. "Get the hell lost, newbie. This place shouldn't be soiled with your crudeness." he snarled, turning back to the figure approaching in the distance.
The voice laughed up a storm, causing a twitch to form in Metal Man's left eye. ~Oh, my, we're certainly the choosy type, aren't we! Wow, that's something I've missed about this place. Those who don't angst are arrogant about their place here in the standings. Well, most of them, anyway.~
The figure had finally appeared in the field, standing close enough to be seen, but far enough away as to still not have entirely approached. The figure was feminine, standing relatively tall and decorated with some traditional Hylian robes, designed for hand-to-hand combat, coloured red. Hair was short and hazel in colour, complimenting her tan skin well, bringing out her eyes... or at least, they WOULD have, had they been there. No, instead there were two gaping holes, as though the eyes had been removed long ago. The figure didn't seem to care, as she stood, looking almost too stiff in nature -- as though she wasn't real at all.
~Do you like my little doll?~ the shadow asked from behind the cyborg. ~The Worlds didn't grant me an exit from my hiding place, so I had to be reborn. This girl is a relative of a thief I used to know, some time ago. She was dead when I found her. But that's okay, because like the rest of my family, she's at my beck-and-call. A good ol' Shikigami.~
At this Metal man turned to the shadow again, aiming his lazer pistol, "Alright, kid, if you're just going to sit there and [cheese] me off, then fine!" he yelled, firing at the tree, and knocking the shadow from its branches.
What he saw then made him stop. The figure itself didn't, as she fell, and only halted her descent when she was a few inches up from the ground, supported by her own magic, as she regained her bearings. Gold eyes glanced sidelong at the offender, as she held pose. Her rather modern dresscode of shrunken hoodie, 3/4 length denims and steel-toed boots seemed to meld well with the blue skin of the feminine figure, and were tailored around the parts that weren't exactly normal for a human -- the different fins on her arms, waist and legs. But these weren't like they had ever been -- these were new. Her ears were like curls of cresent moons, and the tail on back of her head, was now split into three.
Once she was sure her bearings had returned, and he had had a good look at her, she straightened again and landed on the dusty floor below. The scratching clicking behind them both signified the shikigami's sink into the earth, leaving the two warriors staring eye to eye.
~Now this~ Zora grinned, ~Is an appropriate comeback.~

OOC: Guys? ZORAS BACK, BABY!!

I got the internet at long last (after 4 years waiting), and my brain has shuffled straight into action. Guess what? I'm on a Games design course! I get to use my imagination ALL THE TIME! ^___^ I'm a happy camper for that.
One thing to remember. Zora here isn't like she ever was. I think I've still got her attacks (erm... somewhere... *looks around*), but for the millionth time, she's been reincarnated. This is a new Zora.

So, didja miss me?

OOC: O' course I did. I thought this place was half dead. Good thing you came back... I thought this might work. This place has been dead without you and the other Veterans. Now then... for some old-fashioned battling.

* Metal stared for a moment, as if... he had seen a ghost. Then again, the spectral nature of the being he saw was most certainly unusual. Then he straightened up a bit. *

"A most unexpected sight! I was right... there is some magic left in this ground. I can't be sure... but it's too familiar for me to ignore. Allow me to give you a fighter's welcome."

* He smirked, then suddenly levitated an inch off of the ground and floated to Zora's left with machinelike precision. He spun around his trusty laser pistol and let off a few shots at her feet, and then levitated backwards, in which he did a backflip. Expecting his foe to be unlike the ones of recent times, he levitated off to Zora's right. Small holes opened up his shoulders, which then fired a large array of mini-missiles at his target. Then he levitated back a bit, in an attempt to make it harder to hit him. *

"I've learned quite a few tricks since the old days. How about you?"

* The smirk on his face was both odd and old at the same time. As was his change of mood... *
