The hammer swung through the mass as if through air. The form disappeared with the wind just as Kerk felt the pain surge through him. It was as if his skull had been pushed inwards from being him as Lycrios’ fist crashed into it. Kerk was shot forward, but then jerked back once more as a commanding hand forced his shoulder around and back, right into another fist, this time to the face. How bone did not shatter was beyond Kerk.

In one fluid move, Lycrios pulled his blade up with astounding speed for the weapon’s sheer size. Kerk instinctively pulled up his hammer, saving his head in the process, as the blade was batted away from the deadly angle. Lycrios snarled, visibly frustrated. The dull yellow glow in his eyes was now more noticeable, a lust for battle swirling in fury within. The heat around them was intensifying, as the flames spread. Lycrios knew he had to act quickly. He had faired against many creatures of different elements, and most of his journeys had been alongside a deranged lunatic with an affinity for fire. He knew that, surrounded by their favored elements, the creatures able to control them would only grow stronger. He grinned and launched himself at Kerk with a terrifying cry.

The two exchanged blow after blow, the deadly weapons each being parried with skill. Lycrios pushed on, forcing Kerk to back away. Kerk was an able fighter, wielding his weapon with great skill, but within the forest, not many could match Lycrios. Kerk let out a gasp as he saw Lycrios’ lips curl up in a quick smile. He felt his hand instinctively reach down to stop his fall, as he lost his footing, probably from stepping on a vine, or a broken branch. This was the opening Lycrios had been waiting for. Rather than go for the exposed body, Lycrios quickly struck at the exposed hand. As the blade drew nearer, Lycrios could almost smell the blood as he heard the heartbeat of his opponent quicken.

His teeth clacked together, and the sound was eerily metallic, and he said, “I think this place suits me, ah.”

He had traveled for many days and nights, his stride as constant as clockwork and as sure as the rising and setting of the sun, suspended now a finger’s width above the yellow-white horizon. His raven tangles of hair, matted to his forehead with the grease of the homeless and the sweat of the oppressed, trickled down to his shoulders, clad in the lopsided angles of a suit the darkest navy. His undershirt was white at the onset of the journey, when the desert had first began to swallow the landscape down a grainy throat – it was now yellow, stained and worn by the winds. And his tie was haggard, and his pants were loose, for he had not eaten in innumerable days.

On his back, in that pitch navy, there seemed a sort of hunch, not entirely from the broken posture the sands had taught him.

But now he stood as a dilapidated man of business, leaning thankfully against the rusted girder of a structure perhaps older than time – it towered wobbling into the sky, stopping short of the bleached blue on high, looking like the tinker-toy concoction of some child-god. For maybe a football field or so of space it loomed, concrete layered one slab upon the other and spaced out and connected with orange-crusted girders that seemed to be leaning in the very wind, which carried with it flecks of sand that stung the eye and wore raw the skin.

It was here It had taken him, here to die or be killed, so it could move on, and on, and on…

OoC: My God, haven’t done this whole writing in a while. And it shows. Terribly. Bleck. And Vapor, Scar is my opponent, for better or worse.

OoC: Comments: 9 volt has posted, Vapor, everyone but SCARRED WINGS showed up, and we have all done no good. This really needs to speed up. Oh, Demonoid, I'm sorry about what I'm abput to do to Lycrios...

Kerk’s face broke from a terrified gape to a content, wide smile. His eyes swirled with a red fury of disgust, flecked with a black sign of self sacrifice. It was obvious what Kerk intended to do. He shifted his hand straight out, and made a quick, inscrutable noise as his ring and center fingers lopped off and hit the ground. There was a thud as he slammed into the forest’s floor, and a crackle as the grass around his fallen hammer began to burn. He looked up at the surprised beast, whose sword now came plunging down with heavy force, a pivotal attack, or so it seemed. Kerk managed to roll away, then stood up. He put his right hand to his bleeding left, searing a crimson flame on his two nubs. The stumps began to wear away, until nothing but burned, black skin remained of those two fingers. He grinned even more widely than before, now in an anger induced trance.

An uncontrollable soul like Kerk’s always burned in a terrible blaze. There were no ifs and ands and buts in this case, as Kerk was definitely on fire in passion for his beloved flames. His ludicrous love was enough to cause a lust for his own burning feeling, even at the cost of two fingers. Kerk made contact with his hammer by sheer luck in the enemy's elbow, causing a break in his bone. Lycrios snarled and massaged it momentarily, then turned to see Kerk in action once more. He managed to hit him in his stomach also, sending him quite the distance away. With a glare and a smirk, Kerk trotted up, dodged a few sword strikes, and managing to make a duck and appear behind him. The pyromaniac swung his hammer at Lycrios. His head was grazed as he moved back, but the hair on his head caught ablaze. What a sight it was.

“I thought you needed a shave, so I provided the specifics!” he said, rubbing the bruise on his face. He wasn’t really happy about that one, but it was his fingers that Lycrios would pay for with his own. It was never plausible for Kerk when he was either separated from fire, separated from his master, or separated from his body parts. He seemed to crazily forget that he had purposely let those fingers be hewn from his hand…

“NOW, BURN!” Kerk blurted, as he watched the man/creature try desperately to douse the flames on his burning hair, and his slamming his head and snarling eventually paid off. He touched the scorched patch and hoped to find no blood, but the burn had indeed managed to burn deep enough to cause a drizzle of liquid to come out. Lycrios glared at Kerk with an unnatural hatred in his eyes.

“Oh, now it doesn’t LIKE me?!? How quaint…Heh…heheheheheheehehehehe!!!” Laughed an annoyingly gleeful Kerk. Kerk readied his war hammer once more and waited for another attack. The enemy quelled this desire by dashing again into the woods. He couldn’t understand what Kerk had planned, apparently.

Kerk stood in anticipation of attack, sweat forming from the heat in such an intensely hot area. His hand was still trembling violently from the self inflicted burns, which had torn away and eaten skin and bone until he had no nerves to feel it in the nubs, but there was still a pain in the other areas. Kerk had the temptation to simply lop his own hand off with his opponent’s sword as soon as he was done with this. He was happy about one thing, though: His opponent was there. Kerk turned around and punched in Lycrios’ direction. It seemed a bit offsetting to the lycanthrope to suddenly have fire coming at him, especially since at first glance it would seem Kerk hadn't seen him, but he still caught it in time to pull his left arm upward to try to block it with his cloak. Lycrios seemed in a lot of pain as he lifted his broken arm, but the pain wore away in his expression and he blocked the attack with ease. Kerk dashed with a gleam in his eyes as he swung his flaming hammer once more at Lycrios.

“What now, fool?” Sneered Kerk.

Crater's eyes grew wide as the tree fell straight towards him. The swordsman quickly brought up his blades to block it, crossing the weapons between him and the massive trunk. The warrior shook as the tree crashed down on his swords, he knew he couldn't hold its weight for long.

As Crater gritted his teeth, the twin blades began to faintly glow. His foe looked on in disbelief as ice seemed to travel from the swords, and began to consume the entire tree. An ear-splitting "Crack!" rang through the air as the battler shifted his weight and spun towards his enemy, shattering the frigid log between his weapons. His adversary gasped as hundreds of icy shards flew at her, ranging from toothpick size to as long as a hunting spear.

The actual shards could not pierce her armor, but Crater's foe shook and shivered as each one shattered against her. She began to lose feeling in her arms and legs because of the extreme cold. the rapid temperature change almost distracted her from the tingling she was feeling behind her. As the female warrior managed to steal a glance backwards, she noticed what was causing it.

She managed a gasp through her chattering teeth as she saw her frosted wings, but more importantly, the huge shard of ice that had impaled one of them.

Her wings flexed.
*snap* *Snap snap* *Cracksnapcracksnapsnapcracksnap*
Straps, bindings, belts, and whatnot all shattered from the cold and a pile of bones clattered at her feet. What was left was he own apendages, unharmed by such a slight frost. They where the remains of her angelic wings. Nothing but the pure white squeletal frame. She kicked a pair of the medium bone up into her hands and charged forward. Without thought her left hand wiped out and the haft of bone glided straight towards Crater. He easily sidestepped, right in front of the second. Quick reflexes swing his swords out to deflect it. Her hand caught his wrist and moved it out of her way. His second arm already extended, he did not like where this was going.

*CRACK*

The familiar sound of cartilage being crushed underneath a steel gauntlet was comforting to the semi angelic being. Her wings whipped forward propelling her back out of reach just in time to avoid Craters sword. Still having a grip on his wrist he went along for half a step before she swung her arm down and released sending him face first against the earth below. With an already broken nose it did not feel very good to say the least.

Hovering in the air she moved quickly and reacquired her axe. She ignored the pain in her bones from the slight nicks and cuts, and the remaining chill. The second from habit of wearing full armor whether in a desert or a frozen tundra during a snowstorm. The pain though, having no tendons on the wings there should not be any, but there it was. It was strange, but then again, retaining flight was equally odd and she considered one the balance of the other and thought no more of it.

^First Page. I would have DQed you if not for your unknowing demeanor. Go ahead and post. You have about two days now. I'll enforce a time limit law a bit more strictly next round. (If there ever comes a next round...)
