I'll allow first choice of rules or battlefield to the person who accepts. I'm using Kino (last page of the BoW). |

| Hello, VGF. I want to play a game... | Yeah, I'll go against you. I was saving this for an open challenge later on, but it'll have to do. Rules: Basic fare according to the current Gunjin rules drawn up by Wyborn. Battlefield: On a snake’s great back. This snake is made of pure steel, however, and is moving unstoppably across the great desert of a red planet in an odd dimension. The snake provides sturdy surface, as it has a flat back, but moves so quickly that it is hard to retain mobility and traction. Flyer’s are good to use in this case, but electricity wielders are at home because the snake is built to conduct electricity. Regular gunjin rules, I’ll use Galefore, and I’ll intro first. Galefore fell hard on the moving snake’s back. Why? He had fallen into a rift from his own home, strangely and perplexingly, so he now lay on this fast moving snake’s back, dizzy, and disheveled in his armor, which had come loose in certain areas. He fidgeted with it for a while, and then stared at the snake’s back: a wide, flat plain, 100 feet across at least, and the snake’s ends were unseeable. A huge beast, but he deduced it was a snake from the scales on the ground he was sitting on. He was feeling sick. How to stop this thing, he must have wondered, because hastily but hesitating he pulled out his long, double-edged blade and tried with all his might to sink it into the snake’s back. The snake didn’t budge, and the blade didn’t make a mark. It was surprising that the blade didn’t break, but it was an elemental blade, so breaking it would be difficult. Galefore reached into his armor and removed his wallet, which he had with him for some reason. He removed a silver coin, and he knew that if he used it just right he could use such a powerful elemental blast that he might be transported away from where he was. He gave no worries, though, and began flipping the coin and enjoying the ride. After a while, though, he felt very sick, because the snake began picking up speed. He pulled his spear fro the loop on his back and began picking at the metal. Eventually, after what seemed to be an hour, a small hole had formed. The snake then made a noise that was probably audible light-years away: a hiss so terrible that Galefore yelled like a murder victim under its shrill call, trying desperately to save his eardrums with his metal-studded gloves. Galefore fell backwards, staggering about as the woozy feeling in his stomach returned, and he felt disheveled again, all in a lump on the snake’s back. As soon as he had regained his thoughts, a noise was audible. Whatever it was, it was moving in quickly, so Galefore readied his weapons as another dimensional rift opened and he leapt in surprise. Someone was falling out of it… EDIT: Odd, I log on to see this post edited out by me accidentally, and have to rewrite it. Sorry if you noticed and it confused you. Kino muttered to himself as he found himself being teleported. He always found himself in odd situations, particually when he got curious about magic. This wasn't the first time he had been teleported to somewhere strange. He fell from the portal, hit the metal ground hard and started to roll off the side of the floor he had landed on. His hands fought for something to hold onto, but found nothing. By some luck he was able to stop rolling before he fell off the edge. He got to his knees and looked around, hands on the floor to steady himself. He was on some sort of odd metal scaly thing, by the looks of it a snake. Kino shook his head. Metal snakes moving this quickly across a desert had to be one of the strangest sites he had ever seen. He stood up, but immediately crouched again. It would be hard to remain standing for a long period of time at this speed. He looked around again and for the first time noticed an armored person watching him, spear in hand. He shifted his hand to his pistol, ready to draw his weapon and fire if the person decided to attack. He looked over his opponent and realized this was an opponent who knew how to fight. He declared "I'm Kino. I see you're armed, as am I. I do not wish to fight, but I will if attacked. I must ask your intentions." |

| Hello, VGF. I want to play a game... | OoC: Glad you like it, and I must say I’m enthusiastic to see so many returning veterans. This is one of those active weeks, I guess. Anyway, here goes… “Hey, bud, no need to worry! I’m here for the same reason’s you might be!” Said Galefore, now even more confused. A gun, shiny and probably loaded, was hanging at this new arrival’s side. The half-challenge barked from this ‘Kino” was about to be answered, in fact. Galefore was looking for a fight. However, in this case, he would give the word in a non-death challenge. A simple sparring match would do. No need for flashy electricity, or anything else of the sort, just good old clean fighting. “Hey, though, I’d like a sparring match, a simple, clean fight? I’ll even let you use that little gun of yours! Waddya say?” As he waited for a response, he gave leave for first attack. He knew that if a warrior were to accept a challenge, he would naturally want to attack first, and that he would. Galefore also warranted that this guy was probably somehow more than just a man with a gun, as he had to have some sort of power, maybe a mere degenerate form of magic, or perhaps a larger, more bodied formula of mysticism, powerful and deadly as Galefore’s lightning was. This thought process was Galefore’s natural way. He always had to think his formalities and challenges through. All of his thoughts previously mentioned were within the window of about five seconds, but this was still an awkward silence, no response coming from the gun toting other. “Well?” Galefore boomed, now using a deeper voice in good humor. When the challenge was to be answered, it would be. Galefore realized he was till sitting down, and he finally began to rise, embarrassed at his crumpled up former position. He stood in full armor, the heaviness of it seeming infinite, but it was worn like no more than a mere shirt to Galefore. Also, he wore an incredible smirk and a long moustache, all brought together by his long hair. HE was indeed a very friendly seeming person, but also an imposing General-type figure. The challenge still went unanswered for a minute, until finally the answer came: |

He didn't particually like to fight, but the offer seemed harmless enough. He studied his opponent. He figured himself to have the advantage in speed and mobility. He definitely lost in terms of strength and mass. He might be able to hold his own in armed melee combat, but would probably lose in close quarters wrestling or fist to fist combat. No clue as to the opponent's magical capabilities. It looked like the man was already waiting for him to make a move. He nodded and said "Alright, a sparring match. The first to give up or be knocked out wins." And without wasting any time, he drew and fired off three shots in rapid succession, aiming for the arms (hoping to make him drop his weapon) and left leg, curious as to see how this person's armor would hold against the bullets. |

| Hello, VGF. I want to play a game... | OoC: Since you made express mention of the gun only, I kinda left that part out. Sorry. Three loud bangs like a knock on a door. These were of course the bullets in flight, now dangerously cloth within a breath’s time. Such harmony in the shots, although they were slightly separate in distance, this man must have been a trained gun-man. No matter. Galefore held his hand up, the bullets halting. They fell in three quick taps, rolling until out of view. A simple show of magnetic power, a mere side branch of his vast control of electricity and energy. He wasn’t, of course, planning to use his lightning all that much unless called upon to do so, but Kino seemed all the more surprised by this even though he had no vision of Galefore’s power beyond electromagnetism. Galefore decided to let him think that and not show any more of his ability unless called upon, so he fancily twirled the spear and charged, dodging another bullet or two. He ran, of course with abnormal speed for one in such incredible armor. Kino had now drawn the bastard sword. His swordsmanship qualities were still unbeknownst to Galefore, who now jabbed the spear forward, the head of the weapon met by a parry which knocked it a midge away. “Not bad, buddy, keep it up!” said Galefore, almost overly joyous. A fight always made his mouth water, but now he began to thin better of it. A gun? What was he thinking! ‘Always on the alert” is never a phrase to describe the lightning lord’s prowess in attention, and therefore a bullet might hit him while he wasn’t prepared to stop it magnetically. Of course, Galefore had faced worse, namely two powerful angels, a devious plotting man named Maggimus, two common warriors, and of course the ice blooded demon Erasmus. Now his gun worries were absolved at their thought. Even a powerful weapon of human invention was a mere trinket. The elemental of lightning could certainly handle it! Boom. A bullet to the leg. Galefore winced and backed away, then jabbed his spear forward in reflex, almost catching the young warrior by the arm with the triple-head. Galefore angrily shot a bolt of lightning, which crept quickly towards Kino. Galefore knew that he had just unwittingly turned this match into perhaps something more… Last edited by Galefore; 10-28-2006 at 11:14 AM. |

He saw the three headed spear jabbing at him, and rolled to the side, in the nick of time for the spear to scrape against the metallic scales, almost sparking. Kino was instantly on his hands and knees and leapt up charging in past the long spear and swinging the bastard sword. His opponent, not one to be caught off guard too easily dropped his left hand off the shaft of the spear and swung his mailed fist, catching Kino in the ribs and sending him stumbling backwards. Kino immediately summoned a whirl of wind around him and gestured palm forward and sent the wind crashing into the armored warrior, knocking him off balance just enough for him to lose his footing with the snake's speed, and fell to the ground, rolling. Kino moved back, catching his breath, but finding it a little hard to breath. The punch had been a good one. He needed to do some damage here. He drew his pistol again and on a whim, fired the last shot into the shaft of the three headed spear. He placed the pistol back into the holster on his hip, and took his bastard sword into both hands, shifting his stance so his left side was facing the rising warrior. He raised the sword into the air, summoning a whirlwind of energy around the blade, swirling for a couple of seconds, and dissipated. The blade began to glow. He lowered the sword, tip resting on the scales of the snake. His opponent began to rise, wincing in pain as he got to his feet. Kino closed his eyes, focusing on the wind energy he had placed into the blade, taking a single step forward with his right foot as he swung the bastard sword in an arc from tip resting on the ground over head, and released the wind energy into a large hurricane force gust. The effect would almost be startling especially if you had been standing behind Galefore. The wind knocked into him and actually lifted him about three feet off the ground and threw him backwards almost a good ten feet, slamming him onto the ground, knocking the breath out of him, and Kino as well. Using his magic always tended to exhaust him. Kino charged forward, planning to move in and put his blade to his opponent's throat to force him to surrender before he could rise. |

| Hello, VGF. I want to play a game... | For a moment, it was the wind’s whispering breath, with a howl of disarray added suddenly, attacking the warrior and knocking him breathless, as if taking back one of its precious children. Then it was the steel clatter of noise from the armor hitting it, skidding, scraping, and lastly, sparking. Two steel clad fingers drew upward toward the temple, rubbing in pain where the shaft had thumped and caused a momentary loss of thought. Now Galefore, not at all grinning any longer, saw the silvery sheen of a blade overtake his sense of sight, gleaming in the sunlight, drowning out all of the opposite’s visage with the reflection, forcing the lightning elemental to squint. The sword fell. It was being swung towards Galefore. Such forceful swinging was terrible to hear, as it forced the wind around it out of its way, cutting, and dare I say, killing tranquility and stopping Galefore’s temporary lapse. Chink, chink, chink… The sword fell beside the warrior of lightning, not dropping from the now loosened hands of the younger, and now in the eyes of the intently staring elder. The loosened sword’s hilt hung above the hands of Kino, who gaped in incredulous disbelief. A terrible force overtook it, small bolts of lightning sparking, and arcing, around the hilt, causing the sword-holder to relinquish that title and back away. The sword was betraying its holder, defeating its own purpose of defense and offense, and becoming an antagonist against Kino. At this point, Kino was more that gaping, he was drooping. It was almost comical. The unbelievable, and incredibly serious, moment was soon broken by Galefore’s taunting --not unintentionally so insulting-- laugh. The despond that overtook Kino ended, his timorous glare revitalizing to normality. The sword fell, clanking on the snake’s back, and no longer sparking. Galefore finally spoke quite jovially, “Come and get the sword, kid. Ain’t a purpose in the world for me to keep it from you.” As soon as the boy picked it up, Galefore said, “Alright, let’s continue.” However, he did not say this normally, he semi-shouted it, and he said it so quickly that as soon as the younger had redeemed his fallen blade he dropped it again, this time in real pain. Galefore’s triple pronged spear, brilliantly shining and ever ornate in the slightly darkened sun of the dimension, was forcefully inside of Kino’s arm, his left shoulder to be exact. Crimson droplets fell, and Galefore was prepared in case of another painful spell or change in nature. The probability of this was high, as the young one grunted, the middle prong digging deeply and noisily, making a sickening noise like slime being molded into an ornament. Kino gasped every time Galefore dug deeper, or in fact, moved his spear even slightly. “Your turn, kid.” Said Galefore, as he hastily removed the weapon and moved back, grinning even more happily than usual. |
