One of my friends was also dress as a cooker.
He got really angry at me, he said
"I thought you said that you where coming as a parrot!"
I said...

...
"No, I'm going as a cooker too."

b) Image Google for "cooker". If you can't be bothered to do that. It's a Cooker as in Stove, and a Oven with Hobs on. Usually found in the Kitchen, people use it to Cook things.

^ On that term of Fancy Dress yes; but Fancy Dress can also mean, dressing up to look like objects. I.E. Cookers, Parrots, Cockatoo, Chickens, Pigs, Cats, Vampires, Monsters, Dragons, Darth Vader, Robot, Kittens, Bottles of Whisky, etc

We tend to ask before we go.... well I do anyway.

Also depents on the person that is inviting you. You know if it's Lord Manchalade, it's a safe bet that it's a Tux do.
