Brain-Shredding Riddles

In this thread, I shall post those type of riddles which make your brain hurt. I will post a new one after each one is solved, or every week, whichever comes first.

First riddle:

What does time and rain have in common?

Hi Metal Man! Don't believe we've met! Anyway, I shall solve your riddle, you're dealing with Mensa here (expired membership)!

Well, if you transpose the world as a clockface, rain comes down to the world at any point from the 360 degree perimeter of the clockface/world, moving inwardly towards the center, while time-keeping hands, on a clockface, point inwards from the same perimeter to the center of the clockface.

C'mon, aren't I at least close?

Shane is the closest. In fact he thought of something I didn't. However there is one other thing they have in common.

Nice to meet you, TLLL.

The last thing needed to be found is possibly the simplest.

2 vowels and 2 consonants each.

Both one syllable.

Both are impossible to hold (time isnt' physical, rain stops being rain once it's held- it's just water, then).

Both fly.

Ooooh! Ooooh! I know it now!

If you push them both over an edge, only the dot will remain!

Rain keeps on slippin', slippin' into the future?

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Lightbulb I have a few ideas.

They're both homophones: thyme and reign.

They can both be altered by an extreme gravitational field or by accelerating at speeds approaching the speed of light. They are both things you do not pack when you are visiting Europe. They both cannot be found free in your breakfast cereal. They are both controlled by the government.

You use both to make a waterfall, rain to make the water and time to make it fall.

They are both roommates in a new sitcom on NBC; rain is the messy one, while time is a neat-and-tidy type. Both are questions in two non-consecutive Jeopardy answers. Both are ususally used in a crossword puzzle. They both fall from the sky, except for time.

Whenever there is rain, there is usually time around.

Rain was on first base, while time was on second. Also, isn't it ironic for it to ra-a-ain on your wedding day, and also ironic when you are in a traffic jam when you are alreadly late (i.e. not on time)?; in this way they are also related to ten thousand spoons and a ride when you've already paid. Both rain and time are extensively discussed in this thread.

It take both to make trees.

By the by, my brain-shredder is much better, despite being made from an old blender.

At this point, I have to say that they've got a lot more than 'one other' thing in common, wouldn't you?

Also, you said both of them in the process of asking the question.

They both have nothing in common with A VGF member.
They were both in a grammatically incorrect sentence(I think).
They're both unpleasant: Old Age and getting wet.
