Favorite Stand-Up Comedy Routines

So I’m a huge comedy fan and I thought I’d start this thread to share some of my favorite routines with y’all. I doubt I’ll get to it every day, but I’ll try to get to it at least a few times a week. Here’s the first installment:

Listen to Advertising Lullabye by George Carlin : http://www.napster.com/player/tracks/13782351

(to listen to it you have to do a quick register w/ Napster, but all they need is an e-mail address, and you don’t have to sign up for anything). Please post your favorites too, but try to focus on a routine or bit, rather than just telling me who your favorite comedian is.

Uhm, Hot Pockets, by Jim Gaffigan. =D

It's not my favorite, but it's pretty funny. Check it out.

I prefer anything by Ron White or Carlos Mencia.

Ha ha ha, I loved the hot pockets routine. That's great. I like Ron White and Carlos Mencia. I like them both better in their stand-up than on any shows. Ron White seems like the whole blue collar thing has watered him down some, but still very funny. Here's my current fave male comedian:
Listen to American Dream by Eddie Izzard : http://www.napster.com/player/tracks/15219604

That's so bizarre, my "routine of the day" was Lenny Bruce today... twilight zone moment....

Listen to Christ and Moses, Come On Down by Lenny Bruce : http://www.napster.com/player/tracks/16018340

There's a lot of good stuff out there. The golf routine by Robin Williams, the fat people riding roller coasters done by Gabriel Iglesias, the Catholics routine by Dane Cook...or the movie sequence by Pablo Francisco.

that movie sequence by Pablo Francisco is one of my fave routines. I had only seen it on comedy central, but then rented "Three Amigos" (it's a concert DVD of him, Freddy Soto, and Carlos Mencia... all are VERY funny) and saw his whole routine, he's just a very talented man. I have a buddy who can do strange things with his mouth like that (beatbox, etc), but I've never met anyone as good as Pablo.

Another classic: Listen to Dave (Album Version-Greatest Hit) by Cheech & Chong : http://www.napster.com/player/tracks/12086012

I have to watch that Last Comic Standing. I only watched season one, and it kinda put me off, but I heard it's getting better.

Yea, the first season wasn't all that great...not to mention Dat Phan won. He's got some funny stuff, but his delivery could be better, and his jokes are pretty much limited to all things Asian.

Yeah, I'm all about Asian comix, but only if they have range. Like, Margaret Cho makes a lot of jokes about being asian, a lot of jokes about being a woman, a lot of jokes about being chubby, but still is able to joke about other things. Case and point: Listen to Laura & Barbara Bush by Margaret Cho : http://www.napster.com/player/tracks/15909608

Yea, Larry the Cable Guy is the funniest out of the four Blue Collar group, I think. Ron White has some good stuff, but he uses it over and over.

Bill Cosby has some great stand up. I've only heard Eddie Izzard's Dressed to Kill, but I really liked that.

Oh, and I can't forget Mitch Hedberg. That man is hilarious.

Chris Rock's speech about rap music in his Never Scared special:

"If you wanna get away with murder, kill someone and put a demo tape in their pocket"

You have similar taste, those are 3 of my favorites. I love "Himself", I think that is the crowning moment in Cosby's career. Dress to Kill is actually my favorite comedy performance of all time. And Mitch... what can I say about Mitch... "I used to do a lot of drugs. I still do, but I used to too".

I wish I could find some of this gentleman's older stuff, but I guess post-mental institution will have to do: Listen to Ebay by Jonathan Winters: http://www.napster.com/player/tracks/13782689
