Gender: Posts: 4,042 Thanks: 95 Thanked 74 Times in 36 Posts | The Seagull Riddle Some of my friends just finished working this one out, and I wanted to tell it here. With any luck it will take a fair bit of time to figure out. The solution isn't so ridiculous that you dismiss it as stupid, but it does require a fair bit of sleuthing. As always, please refrain from posting the answer or giving hints if you have heard the riddle before. Additionally, this is not the only version of this riddle, so if you were to give hints, they may not be coherent with the version I am following, and would only serve to confuse and irritate people. You may ask yes-or-no questions, and I will answer with either "yes," "no," or "irrelevant." In some cases, if I feel the need, I may qualify my answers. I may also ask you to re-word a question if I feel that it is too ambiguous. The riddle: A man walks into a restaurant by the ocean. When the waiter asks him what he would like to eat, he orders a seagull. After the meal arrives, the man takes a single bite. In a shock of horror, he runs out of the restaurant and into the ocean, where he drowns himself. Why does he do this? (I'll keep myself as on track as possible with my answers, but please bear with me if I become delayed) |
