How old are the children?

Two old friends meet on the street. The first asks the second how his family is. He replies, "They're great. I have three daughters. The sum of their ages is 13. The product of their ages is the number on the house across the street."

The first man thinks for a moment, and he can't figure out the daughters' ages. He says, "I think I need more information." The second man replies, "oh right, my oldest daughter plays soccer." The first says, "Ok, now I've got it."

How old are the children?

Note: Twins or triplets may be assumed to be exactly the same age.

It's a good riddle, but I love how there's two guys who know how to perform maths on the fly like that. It's on par with magnetic monopoles, spherical cows, and a tribe of people who always lie.

I love the fact that the kind of guy who would describe his children's ages to an old friend in riddles was ever able to convince a woman to have his children.

That's not it, Masa. Actually, it looks like you googled the riddle and posted the answer to the different, similar riddle that comes up when you do.

Arrow Eight queen, anyone?

Yeah, half of Layton's puzzles are just stuff taken out of classic puzzle books.
