A Dream-Lander has only slightly more mass than a bubble. That is why they 'pop' when ya hit 'em, and why Kirby can eat so much. They're kept alive by magic.

What Kirby spits out is probably no bigger than a bullet, but he does it at such velocity that it's dangerous, and looks like more than it is (a star). Like lightning.

Perhaps Kirby's race of Dreamlanders are naturally more durable than others. As for his appitite... well maybe it works the same way with Yoshi?
