This card reads: A monster equipped with this card increases it's ATK power by 1000 points. When this card is sent from the field to the graveyard, you can offer one monster from the field as a tribute to place it on top of your deck. [I'd like to thank Pojo.Com for the image.]Pros:You gain 1000 ATK points. You can put it back on the top of your deck for just one monster. Cons:Uhh....Relinquished can take the equipped monster and use it against you,but that's a con..i think. Not a lot of cons for this one card. 1000 Atk power is swwwwweeeeeeeetttt. I have come to a fair agreement with myself. Anyone can join in the COTD YY,KK,and myself will choose the COTD,sounds fair? I think it does. I'm a big fan of Equipment Magic cards and this is probably the 2nd best in my opinion (Next to the Power of Teamwork) Use it! Combos: Axe of Despair and Maha Vailo= 3050 ATK! Rating: 3.75/5 |

You can place it back on the top of your deck. Period. Cons:Relinquished *shudder*, Reverse Trap, Magic Jammer I guess, but if your opponent uses it it's gonna be hell for you. 4/5 |

| Guest Posts: n/a | Axe of Despair AKA Demon's Axe. LoL, notice how clunky the damn thing looks. How effective is an axe with a large wooden form on the end of it? This is one of the most hilarious censoring that Upperdeck has done so far. Other than this, they covered Dark Witch (Valkyrie) more, they gave Water Otomics scales, Dian Keto is a goddess, and Monster Reborn is (supposedly) the symbol of the ankh (Egyptian symbol for life) in Japan. Those are all I can think of off the top of my head. Speakin' of heads, look at the SHAPE of the form on the axe, hehehe. No, it's not bloody. Click here to see a pic of the Japanese Axe of Despair. Now, let's get to the real part of the COTDs. Axe of Despair is one monster of a power-up. Just the fact it adds 1000 attack points is great. Imagine a 4000 attack power Blue Eyes. It makes many cards WORTH playing. You can attach it to ANY monster, too, so that's a huge bonus. The best thing is, you can have THREE. It has not ever been restricted, in Japan or the US (I think). Now, the second thing. You can tribute a monster to get it back. It can really help in a tight situation, I suppose. Some people prefer to tribute monsters in order to bring out other monsters, which is okay. But think of this; You flip over Magician of Faith and get any magic card back. Then you tribute MoF to get a SECOND magic card back from the graveyard, Axe of Despair! Cross Souls probably works too, so you can tribute one of your opponent's monsters instead! It's a magic card, so anybody that doesn't want it used against them will use De-Spell, Magic Jammer (although they may or may not be saving it for Raigekis and Dark Holes), or Heavy Storm. Of course, if you're desperate, you can tribute and get it right back! Now onto this whole scary Relinquished thing. Relinquished kicks ass, but it ain't invincible. All you really have to do is Heavy Storm; it gets rid of your Axe, but it ALSO (supposedly) gets rid of the monster on Relinquished, since the monster becomes an Equipment Card. Best way to get rid of Relinquished is by Man Eater Bug or monster removal; attacks that hurts the owner of Relinquished's life points also gives you life point damage. Unfortunately, Trap Hole does not work since this is a Ritual Monster (and even if it wasn't, it has less than 1000 attack points). But there lies a great weakness; Magic Jammer the Ritual card into high noon. 4/5 for the mega Axe of Despair! |
