To me, that just seems absolutely ridiculous that it wouldn't be able to play used games. I admit, I love going to Gamestop and getting games used or not. Heck, I don't even know if i'm getting a PS3 in the first place but still. |

Wrong doctor, The technology is already built in. Sony just has not decided "if they will use it, and on what games". The sony rep said it's in for sure but don't tell average customers about it unless they ask. They said telling people would make more bad press. They don't like the used game industry, no big name game company does. Every used game sale is lost profit for the game maker and the console maker. Having a way to block used sales could jump up profits considerably. Plus they most likely would make un-coded discs for rental services, the "proper" trial outlet in their eyes.

| Timelord. | ^ I said that they laughed off the idea of doing it, didn't say anything about the technology not being in it. Also if they don't like the fact of used game industry, they need to make some of the games a little cheaper. So they probably willn't make as much money as they use to, but more people that have it the less that are going to buy it used. |

I almost never buy new games. The only new game that I have that's new is Dead Rising, since they didn't have any used. Almost all of my friends aren't high-class, and this is almost an insult to the mid-lower class gamers. The 360 was affordable, you just had to save up for a while. A LONG while. *bicycle-kicks Kaz in the nads* |

So more people buy them new, so you can spend your hard summer wages on more games. Also the more games you have, the less used games your going to buy because you already have most of them.

I hate being patient, but then I feel dumb when it turns out the game I bought for $40 went to $20 in not too short amount of time. Depends how much you like the game and how often you do that. If you constantly buy games that JUST come out BRAND NEW, and don't wait a little while for a price drop, then that comes to be a waste. It sucks when games take forever to drop price. |

Secondly, I don't even remember the last time a game that wasn't a collection of some kind* came out and made me go "GOTTA HAVE IT!" The few times I payed full price for something that wasn't a niche title that disappears from the shelves a few months after being released without a price drop (like Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne or Magna Carta: Tears of Blood), I completely regretted it, mostly because there aren't many games I don't buy on pseudo-impulse (I bought the Special Edition of Resident Evil 4 for $60 even though I was only very slightly interested in it. Why, I still don't know, I've only played the game for ten minutes). * I remember running into the Gamestop I preordered Mega Man X Collection at three times in one day for them to get it delivered (visited as soon as they opened, they said come back at noon. I came back at noon, they said it was being delivered FedEx, so come back at five. I came back at five, and went home singing happy happy joy joy.) Similarly was Capcom Classics Collection, except they had it in the first time I went in the store. ![]() Where are these lemmings going? The Super Nintendo Super Shire! Anyhow, If you thought I was flaming you or irritated at you, I'm sorry. I just think that Sony is trying to market to Higher class gamers, not the average Joe. And thanks SM87.

I understand everything these days are going up but I don't think some of us are ready yet to be forking out the money for it yet. That's just me though, an average Joe. |

If anybody sucks these days, I'd say it's Nintendo. Two lousy consoles in a row, and damned if they aren't going for the trifecta, by jiminy. __________________ Boo--the only dude bad enough to rescue the president |
