He doesn't work for sony, but the company that he does work for is getting news that Sony may pull back the Dev kits and totally re-work the hardware, which would push the launch untill Spring 2007. So I guess we'll have a little more time to save up that $600... |

Quite frankly, if I was planning on getting one I would be upset. On the other hand, Sony is doing the right thing by delaying the release. I would much rather have an amazing 100% working system sitting on my TV stand instead of a broken down waste of $600. In other reference, it's true, more time to save up that $600! ![]() |

| Only half a million will come on the release date. 400K will be released to the US in November, 100K to Japan, and Europe has to wait until March. I don't know how official the source I got this from is, though. Last edited by S1x; 09-07-2006 at 05:28 PM. | |

Ahhh, you got the same news as me. Yes only 400,000 units across USA, and 100,000 units to poor Japan. Plus these units are the "current" build of the system, all units shipped after will be the upgraded 'fixed' build. So pretty much Sony can not keep their promise, so they are going to ship a broken system to try to look good for the press for the November launch date... Sony, what are you doing? Just delay it, and fix the problems..... Don't hope you can just fix it with patches.... P.S. See, I told you guys a delay was coming, though I'm surprized they still expect to ship in America.... | |

Delay it and fix the problems. What would you rather deal with? People who are mad it got delayed or people mad that they bought the system and it broke down on them? Sony, you're shooting yourself in the foot ![]() |
