Red Faction II, as it turns out, is NOT better than the first. In fact, it's just as inane and boring. The "You can blow up ANYTHING" feature is cool at first, especially half-way through the game, but everything else is way to mediocre for the game to be very good. If a great developer like Valve used this engine to heart, we could have some superb games on our hands. For now though, RFII isn't that amazing. 7/10 Shinobi. My god, the game looks cool. When I finally played it, I liked it for about an hour. But it has similar flaws to RF2. It is too uninspired. The levels are boring and repetitive, the enemies are more of the same, and even the gameplay itself gets pretty old pretty fast. I was pretty dissapointed to say the least. I was expecting this game to be superb, but it just wore on me. A shame. 7/10 Finally, Contra III would satisfy my game lust. But alas, it was not to be. I got sick of it quickly, and just went back to contra on my SNES. Now THAT is a game and a half. 7/10 |
