im up to the Phantom ship and i tried all the possible numbers you can put in the chest and it still wont open...how come?

You might be using the right numbers but in the wrong sequence.....I haven't played the game since it took me nearly two hours just to defeat that blasted ever evolving final boss. So I might be wrong.....

somewhere in the ship you find these ghosts who give you the numbers. try all the possible combos with these until you get it. if you try too many times it'll reset the numbers and youll have to see the ghosts again.
