ffx beating penance - VGF

has anyone actually beaten peneance? if so i need some tips. i have around 47000hp 2500mp and stats about 230-255 my lucks at 100 and i have celestial weapons plus this equipment

break hp limit
break mp limit (yuna+lulu have auto phoenix)
auto haste
ribbon

i usually try with wakka rikku and yuna, but generallly only survive about 20 mins before getting whupped. what am i doing wrong?

Unless you fell like relying on Yojimbo, this battle will be very protracted.
You'll need Luck Levels of over 120, and you other attributes at Max. You're life is fine.
It is vital to deal with Pence's arms to prevent him from using Judgement Day.
Overdrives such as Rikku's Hyper Might G, Wakka's Attack reels and Tidus's Blitz Ace, ace on the arms.
Once the arms have gone you'll have a brieh moment to hurt the torso.
If you have a bit of breathing space, use Healing water to restore all your heroes' HP, quick jit to attack the torso and Twin stars or Three stars to minimise Mp consumption.
*fall over due to lack of oxgyen*

thanks but i already had that info from the piggyback guide. no way am i gonna sell out and use yojimbo where's the challenge in that? i found the best way of taking out the arms is either passado, blitz ace, or anima's oblivion but it onlt works once with the aeons before they get slapped, so after the arms grow back a second time i start to run out of options.

have you beaten him?

Why the hell would i wanna do that? my regular attacks do the same damage and i'd be giving up a player. i dont get it, sounds to me like you havent got too far have ya? eh? eh?

Relax take a break and try harder. I have a question I was told that if you beat penance you get him as an anions, is that true. [img]tongue.gif[/img]

no its not true. i did it with yojimbo to see what would happen but nothing. theres not even an explanation as to who this dude is summoning all the dark aeons. just cos ive done it with yojimbo doesnt mean i've given up trying properly i still wanna give him a big fat slap.
