soul calibur guest character ideas - VGF

i think it is cool about the new soul calibur game with yoda and darth vader as guest characters. so i wanted to know who you would want to see as guest characters in soul calibur. i think ryu from street fighter would be cool.

cloud strife and sephiroth would cool.sora and riku would be cool. but this is what i would do for soul calibur 5

ps3:ryu
wii:ike

xbox360:master chief

i would have chosen mario for the wii, but soul calibur is a little bit to serious for him.

I'd choose to ditch the guest characters and, instead, bring back every non-guest playable character who's ever appeared in the entire franchise, and add a few good new characters into the bargain.

I hate it how fighting games just add more and more characters as the series goes on. It makes it hard for someone to master the game =\

I was with you until you said Altier from Assassins Creed. Since he's multi-consoled. Surely it wouldn't make sense to have him just on 360.

Link was in Soul Calibur 3 for the gamecube. I'd much rather see Ganondorf or Pit.

^^Adding new characters adds a new concept of fighting. If every tekken game just stuck to the same 12 characters then there'd be no new variety or action. It'd just be the same game with a different number.

good idea.although i havent played the game, the assasins creed guy would be cool in soul calibur. what about kratos from god of war?

im with wariovswario. fighting games would stink without any new characters. street fighter probably wouldnt have even made it to a home console without new characters.

i would like to see a fighting game that was a mixture of street fighter, mortal kombat, tekken , soul calibur, and also other capcom characters, dragon ball z, and it also had nintendo characters, as well as marvel and dc. i know, basicly im describing mugen. but i mean an official game.by the way, wariovswario, link was in soul calibur 2, not soul calibur 3. soul calibur 3 wasnt even for gamecube, and it didnt even have guest characters.

exactly. i mean, the only way i learned about soul calibur was when i learned that link would be in it. that's probably what got me interested in it.

does anyone agree with me that ryu would be a good guest?

These chilly cats are under the impression that adding stupid outside characters to the next SC title would be a step in the right direction. Apparently they think the best weapon-based fighting franchise ever is going to stagnate unless they bring in a bunch of dumbasses from worthless, irrelevant source material like 'Mortal Kombat' and DBZ.
