Well, Strider Hiryu's in it. Although I would have liked to see less Street Fighter/Dark Stalkers people. Hell, some Mega Man character would have been cool (Protoman or Axl would have been best)

Would have been a little less insane for an RPG if they took out a Street Fighter and threw Kazuo in with a flamethrower or something.

...wait a minute...

They're more than likely going to put some more Mega Man characters in this. They are going to have more than 200 characters total. If Capcom's going to put in Arthur for the old Ghosts 'n' Goblins, they're going to put in more than just Mega Man.

200?! Woah, I thought it was only the people listed...

Or are 185 of those people going to be new dudes made specificially for the game?

Damn, that puts Chrono Cross to shame.

No, I think most of these are going to be existing Namco/Capcom characters. I found some pages from a japanese magazine featuring a handful of the characters that are going to be in this, and I think there's a post on GameFAQs (that may not be too accurate...) that has a list of games they'll get characters from.

Also, not all the characters will be playable.

If they were going to throw in any Darkstalkers character besides Morrigan, it should be Baby Bonnie Hood.

Well, no one said they aren't going to, but all I've seen from DarkStalkers is the vampire guy (I forgot his name...).

BB Hood would be awesome though. And Donovan and Hsien-Ko.

It's Demitri, or something. He's mentioned in that page.

My favorite Darkstalker was actually Felicia. And not because she was pretty much nude, mind you. If you've ever seen her, you'll know why she's my favorite.

Some of her attacks are also hilarious. Like when she lets out a cry, a "Felicia Clone" runs in, and if it hits the opponent, about five Felicia Clones appear and comically beat up the enemy in a cloud of smoke.

Holy crap! That's the same year 'Earthbound' takes place in!

^'Darkstalkers' is great. I agree that Felicia is awesome...granted, I've always felt that half-naked lunatic cat-woman nuns are hot stuff, so I'm a little biased.

Bah. Close enough.

If Capcom and Namco have to duke it out, they should do it the old-fashioned way--in a 2D fighter. Hell, that's how Capcom settled its differences with Marvel and SNK.

Well, I don't think Felicia is "hot stuff" (might help if I were gay). I just like that she's a cat.

Like I said, not all of the 200 characters will be playable. Some will be enemies and other NPCs.

No one likes Lilith. Hsien-Ko and B.B. Hood are better anyway, and I'm pretty certain that at least Hsien-Ko is in this.
