N64's the only actual 64-bit system there. Was that intentional, or were you just having a senior moment?

Neverminding that the Playstation and Saturn ran off of 32-bit processors, not 64....

Honestly I'd say you could pick a few games from the N64 better than anything on the Playstation, but the sheer volume of greatness on the Playstation probably means it's the best system of that generation. Same with with the Gamecube and PS2 last generation, except nothing tops Shadow of the Colossus.

^^Do I look that old to you?

^But they're of the same type of genre, so it really should be in the same category.

They don't make genres of consoles, DZ. That assertion is silly.

Assertion? Don't confuse me with your big words!!!

Anyway, I say that the N64 is superior because, well, it's from Nintendo.

Hah hah. Wy got ninja'd.

I'm with Wy on this one, except for the old 'N64 had better stuff' deal--seriously, are you even for real?

Boo, you may not have liked the 3-D Zeldas from that era, but surely you thought that Super Mario 64 and Goldeneye were the cat's pajamas.

I liked the 3-D Zelda's from that era.

I heard that the PlayStation was originally an addon to the SNES.

^It was, until Nin found out that Sony wanted to use Discs. Then they left Sony on their own.

Like anyone has to try.

Anyone
an·y·one [en-ee-wuhn, -wuhn] Pronunciation
–pronoun any person at all; anybody: Did anyone see the accident?

—Usage note Anyone as a pronoun meaning “anybody” or “any person at all” is written as one word: Does anyone have the correct time? The two-word phrase any one means “any single member of a group of persons or things” and is often followed by of: Can any one of the members type? Anyone of these books is exciting reading. Anyone is somewhat more formal than anybody.

^^^Yes, I did. I also haven't touched either one in ages. Meanwhile, observe my continuing addiction to 'Metal Slug X', 'Oddworld', and especially 'Soul Blade', a game that I'd put even on the same tier as the mighty 'Blast Corps'.

By the way, Dreamcast should really be in this poll as well.

Dreamcast was actually 6th-gen, so it doesn't count.

And on an unrelated note...
Highlight this () smiley. It looks really weird when highlighted.

Says who it doesn't? And 6th-gen my ass, anyhow. As if it was ever in direct competition with the XBox or Gamecube.

^ It's Ace! Quick, flame him!

^^It's a 128-bit system, so technically, it is 6th-gen. It paved the road for all of the ohter systems, even though the engine died before the race even began.

I have a sneaking suspicion that gamers everywhere have no idea what the bit numbers really mean -.-()

Dreamcast may have been during the 5th gen era, but it's technically a 6th gen console.

So it doesn't count.

It goes with X-Box and PS2.
