Anyone seen anyone attempt this, talk about attempting this, or actually doing it? I've seen other ones (Mario and Zelda primarily, and Pokemon to a degree) and have done/been doing some myself (Mario, Zelda, Kid Icarus)...

This is something I'd like to attempt myself one day or help someone else do at least (as I have bought all the games finally, but only played and beaten Metroid II and have no manuals or all that good stuff). So if any of you want to try it and/or have a healthy supply of Metroid art/sprites let me know.

(And Samus/admins, don't lock this topic. If its spamming, tell me so and I'll personally delete it myself)

You need to be advertising something for it to be spam. Asking for help is okay.

Planet Zebes, the site this is a forum for, has a creature database which is a bit like an encyclopedia, but it only covers Metroid 1. I suppose it would be useful for information if you were trying to make a more comprehensive one though.

Hey, this sounds like it be something worthwhile to do. If you'd be interested, would you like me to help you out with it? I could do some research, and I'm sure I could dig up some sites with the sprites. If you're interested in me helping you, contact me at n0leafklover@aol.com.

Zebes is cool, but that's all fanart right? But yeah, I'll remember that as a sourse....

And as for doing it itself, I don't want to do ALL of it. I have enough to do with Zelda and Mario still, but I'm willing to assist in it as much as I can. What I am REALLY wanting is someone with a high Metroid knowledge of useless trivia questions and possible access to manuals (and official guides would be nice).

I have the manual to both Metroid II and Super Metroid, and the official guide to Super Metroid. I use to do a lot of research on the Metroid series, and I think I know enough to help you out. Although it isn't he official guide for Meroid I, I have the issue of Nintendo Power where it guides you from start to finish, and gives a description on all the items, enemies, and maps.

Like I said before, send me an e-mail about this and I would be more than glad to help you make the encyclopedia.

A comprehensive site of "secret" areas in Metroid. It also contains a link somewhere to a Super Metroid one. Either way, it's pretty cool..
