Glitch in Metroid Prime

Alot of people on gfaqs have been saying that sometimes their gamecube will freeze when they are going down elevators. Some people say that it's an error on certain discs, others saying it's just an overall glitch that happens randomly. So, has anyone had this happen to them? I'm hoping I can get through the game without any glitches.

Yes it has happened to me. But a good smack on top of the gamecube fixed the problem...for me anyway. I've heard others weren't so lucky.

Glad to know it isn't just me, I thought it was my GCN that caused it.

only glitch I had was the doors open a few seconds late after you blast them.

My game freezes going through tunnels. Hasn't happened going down elevators yet. I also go through the door opening delay too.

yeah my doors don't always open right away either.. i think that's supposed to happen though.. i dunno. it usually depends on whether i'm right up against the door or a few 'feet' away.

i haven't had it freeze on me.

My game sometimes has doors open slow, but last night my game locked up twice in the same room. Had to turn the cube off then turn it back on both times. Hopefully, I won't have a problem tonight.

I was able to play for about 3 hours, and it has never happened to me.

I can't wait until I can get this game!

(Probably the end of the month)

GRRRR! Stupid freezing glitch happened again. At least I didn't lose anything important.

What I hear is that the majority of the time you won't get the elevator glitch, but when it does happen, people express their dissapointments a lot, making it seem worse than it actually is.

Actually, about 50% of the people on the gamefaqs board (which is over 1000 at the Prime Board) have had some type of glitch happen to them. But what many are saying is that it is from extended shortterm use of the cube, and that the cube is just overheating and needs to rest for a little bit. Also you need to make sure that both sides of the cube are clear so that air can flow through.

Yeah that happend to me like 5 times. I was convinced to return it but it worked again.

Yes, its happened. . . twice! I lost my wave beam . . . *sob* but I got it back.

the door thing is normal. it varies how far and how close you are to the door, and if there's any enimes around.
