The Nightmare in Fusion (edit: More help needed!)

Unfortunately, I can't seem to beat this guy! I mean, I beat him once, but I forgot to save, and after that, I've just had tons of trouble.

Here's the strategy I'm using; if any of you can improve, that'd be great.

***POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT***

During the first form, I climb onto the ladder. He'll shoot up into the air, and then I'll drop to the ground. I'll fire an Ice Missile diagonally and hit his circle. After I've repeated it four times, he switches forms. It's here that most of my health is lost, but I hardly ever die on this form. I just stand under him, jumping and firing Ice Missiles, even though he drops and crashes into me. Finally I beat that form, and then comes the hard one. I can dish out up to 10 missiles while he's moving slowly, but once he tries to ram me I can't seem to find a strategy for dodging that works! Any ideas on how I might dodge his third form (or how I might minimize damage taken during the second) would be EXTREMELY helpful. If it helps at all, I have 8 energy tanks during the battle -- and yes, that includes the one in the room above him.

Repeatedly use the Space Jump boots to find ways to dodge his tackles.

For a speedy battle, don't use missles until the final phase of the battle (use charge shots instead). During that phase, if you can constantly target his head, give it plastic surgery! It's tough, but two or three onslaughts will do in the Nightmare

Shoot his cannon thing with charged shots. In his 2nd form, use missle cannons like mad.

Then you beat him.

Here's a tip: Whenever the SA-X uses the screw attack, charge up your beam, screw attack into it, and fire at it when it drops to the ground. You'll get damaged from the screw attack, but you'll also deal damage to it.

Just run around like a mad lunatic and fire charged shots.It'll go into this crazy whacked out mutant form,and it only take aboutr 5 charged hits to kill it.

Dude I beat the SA-X without even getting hit. If you can't beat that, then good luck with the final boss.

SA-X follows a pretty easy patern. It screw jumps, then tries to shoot you, and when that stops working it repeats the whole prosess. I think what I did, was jump down as soon as it enters the room, blast already charged. I hit it as soon as it hits the ground and then space jump over as it jumps. It hits the ground, not hiting me, I have blast charged, rinse and repeat. I might be remembering something wrong, but hope that helps. The 2nd form is a joke.

SA-X and Omega Metroid are pushovers. The only good good challenging boss in that game is the Nightmare and even it was easy.

I got hit by Omega Metroid once and none by SA-X. Seriously I think the hardest boss was the Security Robot the first time around.

The Spider was a jerk.The Nightmare took me about 1 try.The second security robot was fun.

Meh, I'm still having trouble... the only good strategy I've found is to spacejump around him, since you're invincible to his beam while spacejumping, only landing to fire at him... but he keeps ramming into me.

What I found that worked to avoid the flying around attack he does was to go in a circular pattern. Start on the ladder/wall thing and when he gets close Space Jump over him to the other side of the room then fall and hurry back to the ladder, rinse and repeat.

Another thing is when he is going slow and coming towards you in his second phase just stay on the wall and unload your missiles on his nasty face don't bother dodging the beams unless your life depends on it.
