Why not just buy it on Ebay/Amazon/etc. so you always have it?

I could. That doesn't necessarily guarantee a working cart, though.

It'll be on the Virtual Console soon enough, anyway.

I have a secret to share with you that will make nearly any NES cart work:
Clean it.

You don't need a special kit - just get a butter knife and a wet cloth. Wrap the cloth up around the thin end of the knife, and scrub both sides of the connector pins. You can use an un-wetted part of the cloth to dry it before you try using it.

As for Metroid: Dread, that's been an unsubstanciated rumor for a long time now. The less anyone talks about it, the less believable it gets.

ML; the original Metroid is pretty cool. You can actually use your memory of Zero Mission to find your way through it, since they never give you a map. I suggest playing on an emulator, though. Otherwise, you have to refill your energy tanks every time you use a code to play.

Chunky: Just...never mind.

AI: Ah, thanks. I'll have to look into that pretty soon, I've been kinda wanting to play some Metroid games again.

We're still in the dark as far as Nintendo's next Metroid effort goes, for what I know. It could be anything at this stage. It's interesting to see that people continue to vote in this pole, despite its age.

yes! metroid began as a two dimensional side scroller, and it should stay that way. they should make some first person games, but they need to keep making 2-d's. i don't want metroid to change like that.
