Seriously, I want to know. I mean, does it displace samus in a dimensional rift or what? Craziness.

The morphball is one of those awesome abilities that wouldn't be included in a game series created today because it can't be explained by use of modern science.

I always thought that she would crouch down, which would activate the suit's armour to turn/transform in a sphere shape.

How to figure out where you would be going and stuff like that always got me.

Wasn't there a log in one of the Prime games, where the Space Pirates reported trying to use morphball ability had resulted in death?

I remember when Echoes came out, one of the fake sites Nintendo made for publicity was about a lab trying to develop a "military battle sphere." I can't remember how detailed it was anymore, though, and the site itself, Orbis Labs, has since been taken over by some professional photographer.

Well, I tend to accept unrealistic ideas in things like videogames, mostly because they don't need realism to be fun

But if you want to pretend we can explain it, however equally unrealistic this shall be, I would suggest that much in the way physical teleportation would separate an object into its individual molecules, the suit Samus wears would then compress her "free-floating" cells into the ball until the time to reform her. And she controls her movement with psychokinetic powers. Definitely. o_________o

Yes. The Pirate logs stated attempts to recreate Samus' morphball technique resulted in test subjects becoming horribly mangled.

Anywho, seeing as the Morph Ball is an artifact of Chozo technology and a part of Samus' Powersuit, it can be assumed it's some ancient Chozo power that nobody can comprehend as of yet. I think I remember reading an article on it somewhere. Something to do with replicating a natural Chozo ability with human Samus.

I was thinking ^that. The chozo were initially described as a defunct race, long transcended beyond the physical plane. This could be nearly related.

Pretty much anything after Super Metroid is under skepticism just because it was made with different folks at the helm. From what I can see between Metroid II and Super Metroid, Fusion would not have been next in the series. That doesn't mean it's a bad game, but it's certainly a different style.
