The production could be better, but I started the track almost a year ago. http://www.rippiratej.com/revolver/m...d_Brinstar.mp3 It's a sort of Industrial/Ambient Noise version of the theme from Super Metroid's red soil Brinstar area. ![]() |

It doesn't look that out of the ordinary if you ask me. Very interesting remix, AI. Not exactly my cup of tea, but I really did enjoy it much the same. ![]() "There are some who call me... It was created by scratching the guitar strings in various places, and adding a lot of delay and some slight pitch bending. Sorry to confuse you, but I did say it was part ambient noise. The biggest quality of noise "music" is controlled creation of unmelodic sounds to achieve a specific purpose. I know a few very talented noise musicians from the underground, and the fact that they memorize all of their procedures and continue to act it out like any written piece is very entrancing to consider while they perform. Obviously, not everyone's going to be a fan, and a lot of it's ****, but sometimes you get someone like a friend of mine named Entron who disassembled 6 cassete players/recorders, and rewired them together, and uses their speedup/slowdown as a pitch control. Of course.. that sort of things comes closer to performance art, and just isn't the same recorded. Not only delivering a precisely conceived performance but also engineering your instruments is definitely respectable in my mind. Plus, noise artists always have the most amusingly bizarre names for their songs. But yeah. I was in a staticy mood. ![]() |

There's a lot of really original Metroid remixes out there for download, ranging from really symphonic to industrial and techno. I spent most of my second semester this year listening to them while I studied (I'm not quite sure how that worked, but it did ^_^). |
