It would really be a shame to see someone ruin a masterpiece such as Super Metroid. |

I was bothered enough that in Zero Mission they tried to explain the Wrecked Ship with the Space Pirate's big carrier ship. There was no reason to have to do that, they just did it because they thought it would be neat. Unfortunately, it just creates contradiction with Super Metroid's explanation of the ship. If Gunpei Yokoi were still around, crap like that would never have happened. It's unfortunate that we lost one of the most creative minds of the videogame business. |

As for Metroid 2, RoS needs a complete overhaul, although I did see a store have it for sale for like $20 the other day... I might go back and buy it on the 23rd

I think a remake would be good, though.. And a proper remake, not like some crappy "update" like the Mario Advance series or LttP, where they basically just add in some repetitive "voice-acting" to make the game worse. I don't really think they'd mess with Metroid II, though. There's a lot of respect for the memory of Yokoi at Nintendo, as far as I can see, and Return of Samus was kind of his baby. And I would always rather see something original, rather than a remake - even if it's a good remake. |

I agree 100% with that statement. Except the part about the Mario Advance series. SMB2 Advance sucked but the others ruled. |

I am the mod here, afterall. ![]() And just like the LttP port; the Mario Advance titles were all okay, but none of the things they changed were for the better. Must haves/obvious improvements for a potential Metroid II remake: - Larger area displayed on screen - Music that fits the game - Varying landscapes |

I think Metroid II is actually made to discourage people from playing it. It's very daunting, not really having any direction for where you're going - or even being unable to recognize if you've been there before, aside from the shapes of the rooms. The further into the game you get, the more recognizable it all is. What did help me, and I wouldn't have been able to figure out where the hell I was going without it, was a map GIF that someone's put up on GameFAQs. I just inverted the colors on it, and printed it out (I inverted it, because I didn't want it to print the whole thing with a black background - easier on the ink usage). Good luck with that, if you plan to try. Obviously, I'd recommend that you only consult the map if you absolutely have to. |

A Super Metroid port for the DS would be just excellent, though not a remake in the sense of Zero Mission. The game's |

The latest Castlevanias have been flourishing on the DS. |

(different beams, etc,) and with a DS card they could expand it to be even better than it's origonal SNES counterpart. |

At this point, Pokemon Diamond/Pearl and Mother 3 have pretty much put the final nail in the GBA's coffin. Pretty much all developers' attention is pointed at the DS and PSP anyway - The only GBA games that'll probably be released are the obligatory Fall Movie-licensed games that most people overlook in the first place. It's pretty much time to say "Adios, buddy" to the Game Boy Advance, because there isn't really anything more to look forward too unless you live in Europe and want Final Fantasy VI Advance. It's had a good run, at least. |

If they wanted to go ahead and do something like a multiplayer game, in addition to the classic form, I'd be all for it. That would be spectacular. It would take a lot of ingenuity, though.
