In metroid prime 1 there is this space pirate research facility in phendrena drifts called research lab aether so basiclly this means everything in metroid prime 2 is a ripoff of metroid prime 1 now  |

It's quite likely the use of the same name was intentional, as a sort of indicator of either the next game, or a nod back towards the first. |
