I just downloaded Zero Mission! WOW! Games are just much more fun when they're free!
I like the game so far, and I am almost to RIDLEY right now. My favorite part so far was that bug creature that was absorbed by the plant. After you destroy the plant the bug falls and you can see it's still alive. Then when you go to Norfair, or maybe it's called RIDLEY, then you see the thing healing in a cocoon. Then when you get to the cocoon you see a new path cleared away. Then you find eggs and then an egg sack. Then the evolved form of this thing, a fly comes down at you! That was awesome. I like all of the new monsters, they're great, and they aren't all just locked away in a room somewhere. Most are out in the open, so I like that.
The only thing I don't get is that if the only way to get to MOTHER BRAIN is closed by a statue that can only be unlocked if RIDLEY is beaten, then why does RIDLEY return to Zebes? Wouldn't it be better to stay away from SAMUS so that she could not possibly beat you and move on?
Now the things I like and don't like about the art style is that first of all, a 2.5-D graphic style is the way to go. They should have made the GCN one like that and then just have graphics that are as real as it can get. The only thing I don't like about it is the comic book backgrounds. They aren't realistic enough, and they don't give off an adequate atmosphere. The scenes are acceptable though, like the one with KRAID and SAMUS.
Now I just need to find Fusion, then I'll be set.
What does everyone else think?
L is real
