Yes there was one in existence actually and it aired on Captain N. It was pretty stupid though.

Nope its called Metorid Ultima saga I can tell it wad done underground beacause ive read the credits its not authorized by nntendo. O yea its an anime

Oh. I was assuming you might have meant this.

It's a Metroid manga done by the same guy who did the illustartions for Metroid Zero Mission. But now you've said it's a different one, so...

Exactly how is it stupid? It fulfills the job it was drawn for, to describe Samus' past.
It elaborates on many aspects of the Metroid Universe.

How is it stupid? Because it's not animated? Because that, to me, is a quite flimsy reason.

Well, consider the source. It's coming from a guy who asks if anyone has seen an unlicensed Metroid anime. I'm not going to take his opinions seriously.
