Remember, you destroy 313, Dark Samus, and the planet the AU is on. |

In the official(Japanese) e-manga, It's explained that the MB was actually created by the Chozo. It's up to you as to whether or not that's a decent explanation - I prefer the concept that it was entirely engineered by the Space Pirates to coordinate their Zebesian security networks. Concerning the visual relation to the MB, while the game states that the Aurion system is organic, its appearance is strictly metallic (especially in its corrupted form). The MB is clearly organic in appearance. If the technology were even somewhat related (it's stated pretty clearly that the Space Pirates' tech. is mostly stolen from the Galactic Federation), it'll be the Pirate's attempted recreation of the GF's technology. If you want something to back up the feasibility of that theory, you only need to look at the Pirates' attempt to engineer metroids (Super Metroid's weaker "mochtroids" [sp?]). |

I like to go with the "Chozo created it, Space Pirates corrupted it" crap. I never thought AU 313 was the Mother Brain, more like a mother brain. I'd explain more clearly, but I'm too lazy and tired right now. |

The zebetites were required to power the mother brain, so obviously it's not as massive a system. I don't really like the "chozos maed et" explanation they keep throwing at us for everything, because it's just a symptom of bad writing; unnecessary tie-ins. Same with the whole concept in Zero Mission where they explain away the wrecked ship by showing that it's the ruined Space Pirate mother-ship. It worked better in Super Metroid when we were just given the explanation that it's wreckage of an ancient ship. (Ninja Gaiden 3: Ancient Ship of Doom FTW) |
