Talking What would you think if there was a Metroid movie?

If done right, I think that the idea of a Metroid live-action movie would be pretty cool.

Yes, it would probably be cool. But I'd be more worried about whether or not it did the franchise justice, as so few video game movies do.

It's pretty much impossible to do a Metroid movie for one reason: dialogue. Can't make a movie without it. They could get away with narration, but creating throwaway characters just for the sake of dialogue would be something completely outside the games' experience.

I think Uwe Boll is the only person that would try.

The awesomeness of the movie would be directly proportional to the hotness of Samus.

Directly, Inversely, or some other system?

The only movie I know of that is directly proportional to the hawtness of the lead actress is Resident evil.

Bomby's on the mark. Though a mission briefing at the start wouldn't hurt nothin', & I believe Ridley & the pirates can speak, yes?

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Admiral Dane (or whatever his name was) survived, Gandradragagagaga (or whatever her name was) and Rundas died. This sucks, since Rundas had one of the most badass VAs in the history of VAdom.

Also, now that I think about it... didn't Samus have extended conversations with Adam in Metroid Fusion? I think the effectiveness of dialogue in a Metroid movie is a lot more prospective than AI is predicting.

Fusion is a 3rd or 4th movie, not a 1st. Although I could totally see the still-living Adam in a prologue or epilogue for the 1st.

^ I'm not suggesting they make Fusion right into a movie, just that there has been dialogue in Metroid games, including with the generally-silent Samus.

Prime 3 is a decent game, but it's hardly exemplary of the series.

Bomby, I know good movies are made without dialogue- I've seen a few. The thing is, Hollywood doesn't know that. The prospect of Hollywood becoming involved with anything I love scares the **** out of me, actually.

Wall-E worked pretty well without dialogue, and that's about as mainstream a film as you can get.

I honestly haven't seen that, mostly because Pixar gets on my nerves. That's a family/comedy, though, isn't it? I mean, not that I expect it's never been done in scifi/action/adventure yada, but Metroid's kind of out-of-bounds in the way of Pixar films.
