Thumbs up M:OM Screens and other info!

1up.com has an interview as well as some slick new Metroid: Other M screens online for your perusal.

Metroid Other M Preview for the Wii from 1UP.com

According to the interview, the game is set between Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion. Read the article and share your opinions.

Sorry for being a joy-kill, but those images aren't really all that new.

Interview was interesting. Not sure what to think about this, though:

YS: If you think about this one as being maybe similar to Metroid Fusion, then I think you'll have an idea of how the story will play out. It's still linear in the sense that there's a progression, but there are side areas that players can go into. It will retain that true, Metroid feel.

I have a feeling this won't really be a traditional Metroid game (Metroidvania exploring and item collecting, all that jazz). I think it'll be more of a "Metroid Gaiden".

Edit: Metroid Gaiden. Go figure.

^Too true. Here on the net, we have to gauge time by the standards of all of the 10 year olds present. Anything that happened over a year ago is ancient history, and anything that happened a week ago is a distant memory.

Well, I assume it'll be a bit of both. Probably very similar to Fusion where they use cutscenes to move the story along, but still let you wander at your own pace/choose your own course in between plot points.
