Nintendo possesses the enviable power to make people buy the same game up to no less than seven times. Just look at Super Mario Bros. for proof of this truth.

^ Haven't payed for it since the first time, and that was a free tie-in.

I really wanted it for the controls. Just picked up the game, since EB had the hulking Nintendo of Australia looming ominously over it, preventing them from releasing it the day the shipment arrived (or something like that). I'm disappointed by the lackluster packaging - sure, I get a fancy external tagboard cover. Ain't no steel case, lemme tell you. And my Metroid Prime 2 PAL copy already came with a much fancier tagboard cover, replete with holographic print. That said, I got the game for the controls. The Gamecube version worked for what they had to do, since the control base was severely limited in range compared to modern FPS titles, but it was clunky in a way that interfered with gameplay (more of the visor/weapon selecting should've been handled by quick software menus as they are now, to free up the C-stick). An analogue stick will never be a good substitute for the wii-remote, I have to say. They're two very different devices.

Anyway, time to fire this thing up.

Don't forget, you can flip the Wiimote to do a Morph Ball bounce in MP1 and MP2 now.

Saves you some time.

Tight, I'll try and remember that.

I can't be the only person who finds arbitrary hand-movements more difficult to remember than which button I'm pressing, btw. I don't think I'll ever have the same skill with a Wiimote movement that I have with smashing buttons on an NES or SNES pad.

So I just beat the first Metroid Prime on normal mode. Noticed increased numbers in enemies and so on, and the absence of references to the Metroid Prime (no big deal, but it was an interesting point to the game even if it did create plotholes).

I got to thinking about a few things, so I suppose I'll make a topic or two about them.
