I don't know if these details about the game's controls have been revealed already, so I'll just post this here anyway.

Quote:
Metroid™: Other M, the incredible new Metroid game developed for Wii through a collaboration by Nintendo and the world-renowned Team Ninja, launches June 27. The game looks at the classic franchise from a new perspective: While much of the game is reminiscent of 2-D side-scrollers, players can switch the perspective into 3-D at any time as they explore the twisting passages of a derelict space station and delve deep into a cinematic, never-before-told story of bounty hunter Samus Aran's past. This new approach uses a new control scheme in which players use the Wii Remote™ controller held sideways to battle enemies and navigate the expansive, gorgeous environments in classic Metroid fashion, then aim at the screen with the Wii Remote pointer to blast foes in first-person and hunt the world for clues and hidden passages.

I was just about to post that.

I'm interested in seeing how the first-person/third-person thing works out, and how it affects the gameplay.

Gotta say, I didn't expect the whole "hold the controller like you're playing Super Paper Mario" thing.

I can think of several Wii games I own that play like that.

Btw, I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but Yoshio Sakamoto (the director of Super Metroid) is working on this game.

Awesome.

I don't remember Samus having that much cleavage.

Maybe I wasn't paying enough attention.

I could've sworn she was wearing a shirt or something under that jacket.

Is it only me that thinks about the Pixel palace when they se that picture?

Allso i think it's a bit funny that more and more skin is reavealed, to bad that the mistery dissapears when you start explaining the history of characters.

^ Yeah, I really don't appreciate the comments about knowing SO MUCH MORE about Samus. Honestly, I just want another Metroid game. Worst thing is, if I can't stand what they do, I already know they'll just start cranking out the sequels.

They probably won't go too far, I wouldn't want that. Nintendo seems to not like adding alot of backstory.

Oh yeah, the black guy's name is Anthony Higgins. He apparently called Samus "princess" in the past. Also, Adam is being cold to Samus.

Samus seems to feel very strongly about the whole baby Metroid thing. I don't think this game will make her get over the loss.

Here's the opening cinematics from M:OM, apparently. Shaky, but enjoy.

Confirmed to take place post-Super. Also, Team Ninja really left their signature on Samus's body proportions.
