This should really help you out. Metroid Lua - Neill Corlett's Home Page ![]() ![]() ![]() It's what it looks like, folks. It's a script you can run with version 2.12 of the emulator FCEUX. It adds a map, item menu, mini map, onscreen timer, and the coup de grace of it all; You'll always start with full energy tanks, after putting in your passwords. I've also found something else to give those of you who've already played it through some more incentive to play again: http://www.metroid-database.com/fanapps/MDbtroid.zip That's an IPS patch by a guy called Infinity's End, which updates the graphics to a more polished look. It's more than just a simple sprite hack, though, as it actually increases the size of the bosses and modifies enemy behavior: ![]() If you want to use the IPS patch, you'll need a patcher utility. For this, I prefer the very simple IPSWin app. So give it a shot and let us all know what you think. Happy Metroid Hunting. :3 Last edited by Cosmonautical; 10-18-2010 at 01:46 AM. | ||

Anyone else willing to give it a shot? It really does change the Metroid experience that teensy bit necessary to make it worth playing through again, or giving it a second try if you've never finished the original. |

Now I can make frozen platforms/kill metroids and switch to a beam that inflicts decent damage. NO LONGER DO I HAVE TO CHOOSE! The full energy tank thing is pretty nice too. I used to always leave the extra tank right at the begining uncollected so I could grab it as soon as I put in my code for a quick energy fill. |

All that backtracking isn't so fun once you've played through the game a few times, though. Leaving that first tank was always one of my favorite tricks, as well. |
