Metroid 64

I still think there should've been a Metroid 64 in 3rd person.

The N64 was a pretty horrible system that screwed up franchises. I'm glad Metroid wasn't forced to humble itself on it.

*rumble* *rumble* *rumble*

I believe AI dislikes OoT, maybe SM64 as well, and I think he called Kirby 64 slow before.

...Kirby 64 and Dream Land 3 were kinda lame if you ask me. I think it partly the whole, "hold onto that power kids! What power? AHAHAHAHAHAHA, YOU'LL FIND OUT SOON ENOUGH" element present in bot games.

I see three good games on that list that didn't **** up their respective series, one awful game on that list that didn't **** up its respective series. and two decent games that totally screwed up their series.

Guess which ones were already 3D.

Agreed.

The only game in that list I didn't seem to love was Kirby, and mainly because I haven't played it.

No way man, N64 was actually better than GCN and Wii!

Hmph. I like the franchises the way they are now.

Also, knowing how bad 3rd person shooters could get during that generation, it's probably for the best, given the path we now have.

Agreed, NSMB was a good return to form and TP started the cleanup of the mess that was the Zelda series.

I still can't pass that burning bridge in TP

Granted, I haven't tried since, but I'm sure I still can't do it. God damn it, how can I slowly push a box when there's fire creeping towards me?!

Spoiler Below
Climb on the box and jump over the side.

Val, I personally don't like Kirby 64. I didn't even when I was a kid. I was all like, "Why is my NES game faster and more exciting than this really new one I just got?" The one thing from Crystal Shards that I really enjoyed was power combining. I wish they'd bring that back, but bring it with the pace of a real Kirby Game.

That said, Epic Yarn is awesome and it didn't even have powers. I'd say Nintendo's on the up and up.

Well i was thinking Metroid 64 could've been using the OOT/Megaman 64 engine.

I don't see how the OoT engine could work in the Metroid Setting. And I absolutely despise the Megaman 64/Legends playstyle, so...

Maybe something like Jet Force Gemini would've been good. Even then, they're totally different genres. I can't see it going well. Samus was in SSB, let's just leave it at that.
