Which extra Metroid character for SSB?

If they included an extra playable character for Super Smash Bros, who should they adapt to fit the role? The most obvious characters are probably Dark Samus, SA-X, and Anthony Higgs, since they may or may not take much extra effort.

I'd like to see some of the extra characters from Prime 3 show up, though, like Rhundas. He'd be an interesting character design, and he would definitely bring something new to the game with his ice abilities.

Ghor and Gandrayda are both promising, though.

Since we can fantasize all we want, I might was well drudge up some near-impossibility and say Brannigan. Playing as a Desgeega could be pretty damn fun.

Thoughts?

I always wanted Ridley. Yeah, I know he's big, but it would be so cool.

I wouldn't like Dark Samus or SA-X, because they would end up just being Samus clones. I can't see Anthony Higgs as a playable character, but maybe as an Assist.

Ridley is probably doomed because Brawl set him as a boss character. Now it'd just be strange if they shrunk him.

Dark Samus would work well and would fill a 'villain' role. And 'it' could have a unique moveset if they just look at the DS boss fights...
Rundas is less likely and I'm not sure how popular he is. Not enough characters in Smash use 'icy' attacks though, so...

Dark Samus Moveset
B: Phazon Missile
Hold B to charge a missile. When it explodes, it'll leave a cloud of Phazon that will damage opponents.
If you press B a lot, Dark Samus will spam smaller and weaker missiles that do not leave clouds.

B Left/Right: Phazon Boost
Dark Samus rolls into a ball and boosts in the direction. Yeah. Not sure if this should be a 'charged' move, but whatever.

B Down: Phazon Field
Dark Samus quickly puts up a Phazon field. It destroys projectiles and does some damage to people close by.

B Up: Phazon Charge or something
Think Lucario's recovery. Except...when Dark Samus hits ground, it'll create an explosion! Yeah!

Final Smash: Phazon Prime
Familiar tendrils instantly spring out of Dark Samus for great damage. Also Dark Samus laughs.

(also Dark Samus floats like Mewtwo and likes Phazon)

Ridley would be my absolute favorite. He would only have to be as big as Bowser. They'd have to shrink him regardless of his size in Brawl, so that's fine by me. I'd just love to see him as playable.

Yeah, me and my friends thought that Ridley was going to be in Brawl, if I remember right. I'd like him to be a bit bigger than Bowser...

Also, Rhundas would be absolutely epic.

Dark Samus wouldn't be a clone; she might move like the original, but the attacks could be wholly different. And I'm already picturing a Final Smash of turning into the Metroid Prime again.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Dark Samus can fly and phase through matter. I don't see how that would have to be an identical moveset at all.

ridley. he can be twice the size of bowser for all i care, its really no big deal to have a big character.

dark samus is a close second and rundas could also be cool

Ridley's a great choice, although about as unlikely as seeing the Phantoon playable anytime soon as far as I can tell. Speaking of which, any game ever to feature the Phantoon, I will pay money for. Especially since it was such a killer finale boss to Other M that it in part saved my opinion of the game. It was everything the rest of the game should have been.
