If anyone's in need of a new Metroid fix, they're saying this will hit the spot and then some: Metroid Database :: Metroid Super ZeroMission Review I haven't tried it out yet, but here's hoping it does what they claim, and then some. |

This one got a resounding "yes" from MDB, though, so I figured it was worth mentioning. I've played some other highly-rated hacks that were, well, hackish and unfulfilling thanks to their poor execution, linearity, and generally unbalanced enemies (death in a single hit? seriously?) but they're saying this isn't one of those at all. Sounds good to me, I'll be playing it as soon as I'm done with DNF. |

Which, by the way, has been a very entertaining game. If any of you guys set it up and sink your teeth into this one, let us all know how you go in it, okay? |

Too early for any real impressions other than "please play this with a controller or something". I've encountered some weird visual glitch with the pretty large room near the second Brinstar Save Room where the screen doesn't scroll to the next 'part' of the room but you're still there. Kinda odd, it's probably just a problem on my end though. Last edited by X-3; 06-24-2011 at 02:33 PM. |

Explored every possible accessible area, and am in Kraid's lair, needing to get up through a hole in a roof but it's damn near impossible to bomb jump through and it looks like I'm supposed to wall jump it or something, but I fall short by like a pixel. Wondering what kind of bull**** you're actually supposed to do to play this hack, if it's supposedly "reasonable" according to MDB. |

I seem to be stuck, but it's probably just lack of exploration. I'm also replaying Pokémon Red/Fire Red/Pearl simultaneously, so I don't have the time for a Metroid game. It seems like a nice game, though, and I'll probably play it through sometime. |

I don't have the speedbooster. I saw some guy get up there in a video by walljumping some impossible distance (looked like a cheat, I don't know how you can get that far with the amount of lift necessary). It looks like you actually need the icebeam, but I'm seriously stuck and this is the only place left that's reasonable to travel to. You're supposed to not need to do any hell runs (through lava/heat rooms/enemy population demands items you don't have), and you're supposed to not need to infinite bomb jump, or ball-dash to get through the game, so I don't know what's up. I've bombed like every damn floor and accessible roof and wall and gotten nothing out of it, bro. :/ I guess I'll have to try to do a hell run up through the varia suit area, although from the vid I saw it looks like it is EXACTLY what it sounds like - total hell. |

I was just saying to dash jump for some extra height. But you're the one actually playing it, so you're probably right. |

So far the game has been pretty insanely complicated, and is giving way more challenge than even the first Metroid gave me. It's pretty satisfying to make progress, though, so I'm thrilled to be playing it. Not quite on part with SM Legacy, which was more in line with Super Metroid for difficulty and kept the same style. That's a fantastic hack, btw, if anyone just wants more Super Metroid without the insane path-finding and combat difficulties. This one is more like SM*ZM on hard mode.
