No, the idea with cake balls is you bake a cake and crumble it all up. Then you mix in a little frosting with the cake crumbles, so you can make it all stick together, and shape it into balls. Then you would use a stiff frosting recipe to cover the balls and decorate them, and once the outer frosting has set, they are just delicious little snacks.

They are sooo cool!!!! I reckon I could whip up some of them... when do you want them?... I may need to do a shopping trip for M&Ms since I probably ate all the red ones of the last packet... right after I ate all the brown ones... >.>

Zomg. Last year my friend and I cooked nerdy christmas cookies and decorated them with colored frosting. THIS IS OUR PROJECT THIS YEAR FO SHO.
