Metroid: Other M or Metroid Prime 3

Well, I was at Gamestop the other day and saw that Metroid: Other M, so I was going to get that, because it was within my price range. However just today I saw that Metroid Prime 3 was available for around the same price. So I might get that instead. I've heard Metroid: Other M has some problems with it, so would you suggest getting Metroid Prime 3 instead?

Most complaints regarding Other M tend to be directed at the weak story, which is a big aspect of this game in particular. Some aspects of the gameplay kinda suck (ie: upgrades are just given to you at random intervals in the story) but the game overall is fun.

I do think Prime 3 is the better game overall though.

They're both good games. If you had to pick one, I'd probably go with Metroid Prime 3 though.

Metroid: Other M will piss you off if you like other Metroid games. It's got some very good gameplay, but the plot elements are very weak and the powerup collection is delivered in a way that feels contrived and frustrating (especially as this trick was employed for the soul excuse of controlled, linear plot-progression in a game that should have been as non-linear as possible). Get Prime 3.
