Remember the Legend of Zelda Collector's Edition? Well, Nintendo's doing another one of those. This time it's a disc with some Metroid stuff on it. However, there's no playable games or even demos. It's all just art galleries and stuff. You obtain it in the exact same ways - renew your Nintendo Power subscription, buy a specially marked Gamecube system (in this case, you'll also receive a copy of the original Metroid Prime), or register games and a system at Nintendo.com. The only difference in obtaining it is that you need five games instead of two (If you already had two games and the system in there from the Zelda disc, you only need to register three games).

It may not have any playable stuff on it, but free's good. I got one.

No playable games, hm? It doesn't sound worth picking up, but I need to renew my Nintendo Power subscription anyways, so I might as well.

My bad. There is a playable demo on there.

The idea grabs my attention, but I have to admit the Zelda Collector's Disc is/was way more appealing. I mean, you got how many full games on that disc? I think the Metroid Prime bonus disc should contain not only a demo of MP2:Echos but perhaps the first two Metroids. Metroid and Metroid II: The Return of Samus. Something like that perhaps.

I agree with LTS. They should make a Metroid Anniversary Disk or something that has the first couple of Metroid on it.

Where is the idiot running to? Why to Nintendo Mania of course. Just follow him for the time of your life.

Eh. I'd be more interested in Metroid II. But throw in 1 for the sake of the loons out there...

Hey, at least it's no Ocarina of Time/Donkey Kong Country.

This doesn't strike my attention, but like DM, my NP subscription needs renewal soon.

Nintendo REALLY needs to port Super Metroid. Now THAT would be smart to include in the bonus disk.

Metroid II and Super Metroid are way too undervalued, despite how excellent they are. The first one is actually quite overrated in my opinion.

My disc arrived Thursday. I haven't tried it out yet, though. I vowed not to put my Saturn away until I completed any one Saturn game, so...

But don't expect any spiffy case like the Zelda disc came in. They just send it in a little plastic sleeve inside a padded envelope.

Five games just for THAT? No thanks. My Nintendo Power subscription is ending soon, but I'd rather get a player's guide (preferably Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen).
