Theory one:

The reason that Dark Aether's air is poisionous is due to the fact that it is almost compleatly phazon. The Ing can survive is due to the fact that they are beings of phazon too. All the rest of them is dark energy. Therefore they are able live in their toxic land. Since the Ing are composed of phazon, when they posses an animal or object it becomes mutated. The same happens to the creature when exposed to Phazon. Recall that in the original Prime, when mutated, the creature would become immune to phazon. The Darklings are able to survive in the Dark World because they are immune to the phazon in the atmosphere. Dark Aether was probably created when the giant cosmic projectile (obviosly phazon) hit Aether. The object then ripped holes in the fabric of space and time. These rifts suked large amounts of phazon and half of the planetary energy into the new dimension. the energy was just enough to sustain the new dimension and keep both worlds in dimensional flux. The Ing might have evolved from beings that were drawn into the new dimesion and mutated so mutch that there evolution lept fowards thousands of years and reached the point where the gained the ability to posses things. However the constent exposure to phazon left all the Ing with cases of Phazon madness then rendering them cruel and warlike, among other reasons.

Theory two: The cosmic object tore holes in space-time to Dark Aether where the Ing already existed.

So tell me what you think.

Theory1: Interesting theory, but there's a few things you've overlooked. The dark and light suits protect you from the atmosphere in Dark Aether, which according to your theory is mostly Phazon. However even with these suits if you stand on or near a patch of Phazon you still get hit by the full corrosive power of it. Therefore if the air was made of phazon and they suits protected you from it then they should also protect you from the raw phazon at least to some extent, which they don't.

technically it might have happened before the luminoth even went into the dark world and discovered the Ing.
Irken, your theory seems to make a lot of sense, however unless someone at nintendo reveals anything more it remains just a theory. I'd also like to comment that you're spelling is closing in on engrish. *shudders*

I never said it was the Luminoth. But then again, I never said it wasn't.

technically the luminoth, would only realise the other luminoth had disappeared, they wouldn't know if they had mutated. For all they know they could have just been eaten.
