I think I'm gonna throw my 360 out the window and smash it on the ground

I got Rock Band about three weeks ago for the 360. I got home and played it. I was more excited than a coke head in Columbia. I get to the 6th song and the greatest message in the world pops up. "Disk cannot be read due to scratches" or whatever it said. I look at the disk and there is a large scratch going across the disk. I assumed Best Buy had sold me a scratched disk.

I went back the next day and replaced the disk. Again, coke head in Columbia. a week later, the same thing happens when I am kicking someone's ass online in a Tug of War match in Train Kept A Rollin'. I take out the disk and another scratch is going around the disk. I had check the disk after I bought it in front of the clerk the second time to make sure the disk was in tact. It was. But after this, I have come to one of two conclusions. Either my brother is an ass and decided to scratch the disk when I was at jazz sectional...

OR

The 360 is eating through my game.

I don't know if it is or not, but my Guitar Hero-like games (and all my 360 game because they're around $70 each) I take extremely good care of. I place them in the box carefully and make sure nothing bad happens to them. So apparently, Microsoft likes to **** with me.

I thinkthis should probably go into the venting forum but if anyone knows how I can keep the 360 from doing this, I would appreciate any help.

Damn, that sucks. Reminds me of when I had a PlayStation.

Lay your 360 horizontal like instead of vertical. A guy I know worked for Microsoft doing Xbox tech support and says that a lot of people complained about the same thing, and he had to tell them that since the 360's manual actually tells you to lay it that way that they weren't entitled to any refunds or replacements. But that aught to prevent any further scratches.

PT got to it first. If that's the case, it's simply a "user error", as Microsoft Support puts it. Nothing you can do besides set it the way it was supposed to. You have a warranty for the 2nd Rock Band, right?

I just put mine horizontal...

It started making some nasty noises during loads while it was vertical.

Hammers are so much more fun, though.

It got scratched up when it was horizontal.

I've decided, when I get time, to get some d-skins.

I don't think it would work on a broken 360

I think your best option is to not buy hardware made by a software manufacturer/in mexico. If, however, you want to play games on the system(as do I) you can bend over.
