Having beaten all the games I own,

I was wondering if any of you had suggestions for mah next 36o purchase. I already own The Orange Box, Bioshock and Halo 3, so those are out of the question. *Duh.*

Anyone? Anyone at all?

*sigh* I know it's good, and it won some awards. But why? Convince me to buy it, instead of Gears of War, or Assasin's Creed or something else.

'Mass Effect' is great. So is 'Assassin's Creed'. But why not jump the shark and buy 'Just Cause'? It's loaded with fun crap to do, and you can get it for a song these days. (You might want to rent before buying, though--I don't know what kind of stuff you cats are into, and I don't want to hear a bunch of moaning later on if you prove too much of a dead ass to enjoy it.)

'Just Cause' is set in the fictional Caribbean nation of San Esperito. The country has been taken over by a corrupt dictator. You play a CIA agent, working with rebel factions to destabilise the government and free the nation. It's a real sandbox title--there's a central storyline, but there's no real pressure to move it forward. Participate in a race here, lead an attack on a military base there: run guns to rebel cells, hijack helicopters, blow up coca fields belonging to rival drug-lords, or even just run around shooting everyone you see. It's like a marginally-less amoral GTA, with crazy-ass stunts thrown in for good measure. Damn good title.

Whatever it is, I'm sure it will be either an FPS or at least involve guns. Hence, Xbox.

Seriously though, have you played anything RPG or adventure-like lately? The genre really wants your money. Needs it.

^'Just Cause' has RPGs. They're terrific for blowing up enemy barricades, as I recall.

^Oh, dear. You included 'Big Bumpin', without also including 'Pocketbike Racing' and 'Sneak King'. Honest mistake, or evil anti-The King conspiracy? YOU BE THE JUDGE.

All of those games have Guns.

They're just in secret rooms, or inside Character Models.

Not to mention Lost Oddesey or Fable 2 (and while you're listing **** that hasn't come out, I notice you left off Too Human. Wyborn's going to flog you).

What types of games do you like?

If you have live, Call of Duty 4 is good right now. Gears is fun. Problem with both is the short campaigns. Gears is more forgivable because it at least has co-op.

Mass Effect is good because it combines shooter elements with an RPG (RPG like Knights of the Old Republic). The story is great, the universe is great, and there's enough in the game to keep you busy for 30+ hours.

Oblivion is a massive time-sink. Story is lame, but there's so much to do that you can get around it.

Dead Rising is pretty fun if you can get into it.

Eternal Sonata is actually pretty good. Traditional JRPG mixed with a bunch of impressionist artstyles and music.

Its hard to give suggestions without parameters.

If you want RPG's.
Eternal Sonata™
and Oblivion

are the ones you need to be looking at.

Although without telling us you genre or games list, it's hard to tell you.

I've been wondering about Eternal Sonata. I've been playing Oblivion for about a month now, except for a few hours I put into Portal. I don't think I'm near the end.

^'Eternal Sonata' is pretty good for a Japan-style RPG.
