How about leaving Capcom and Mortal Kombat both out of the equation, and just have Marvel fight DC? Because that could conceivably kick ass. Think of it--Superman vs Thor. Green Lantern vs Iron Man. Batman vs Captain America. Aquaman vs the Sub-Mariner. Lobo vs. the Hulk (holy crap). Goosebumps, baby.

Much as I think it would be fun to see the Street fighters inneract with the smashers, it couldn't work the mechanics of the games alone would have to chang greatly plus the 'veres of both are wildly diffrent.

Nintendo probably wouldn't involve Smash Bros. at all.

It would mostly be more of a 2-D fighting game, with Nintendo characters that could relate to the Capcom characters.
