Some... where... out... there... *dies* Gender: Posts: 12,760 Thanks: 194 Thanked 504 Times in 235 Posts | I have turned to the dark side. Yesterday I rewarded myself for (mostly, sort of, almost) passing my prelims by buying myself an Xbox. May God have mercy on my soul. I mainly just really, really, wanted to play Eternal Sonata for a long time now. (Since it's been forever since I've played an awesome RPG, and this game looks promising.) I also bought Soul Caliber 4, since I enjoy that series. Don't have any plans to buy anything else on the horizon. Any Xbox players have any suggestions for anything that I should/need to get software- or hardware-wise? Since I know nothing about Xbox. I'm not interested in paying for online stuff. Is there any free online stuff worth my while? -jay |

If you have never played Half-Life 2 or Portal, The Orange Box is a recommendation. Also, go look at Mass Effect. I had some fun with it (Remember to Quick-Save during the Car Areas. >_>), and maybe Ninja Gaiden 2 if you like pain. Have Fun! |

Blue Dragon for a Cartoon RPG Turn Based style game. Oh...and if you haven't played it. Elder Scolls IV! Sort of Epic Hack and Slash RPG. And if you have excess to Interweb through it, get Fable (I know you don't want to buy online, but it's worth it (Hack and Slash style RPG). Also look out for it's sequel later this year (hopefully), Fable 2. |

Sometimes I weep at how fanboy-ish this website is. Anyway, get Call of Duty 4. Even if you don't like FPSs, that game will change your mind. ![]() |

If you like RPGs, 'Oblivion' is a good bet. Be forewarned--'Oblivion is a Western-style RPG--less story-driven, less linear. Lots and lots to do. I'd also recommend 'Just Cause', 'Call of Duty 2', and 'Dead Rising'. They're all great, and, as they're a couple years old, you should be able to find 'em dirt cheap. |

It's more of a "I never thought I would buy a system created by Bill Gates" kind of thing. I'm not a huge fan of Microsoft in general. (Although I'm not a Linux or Mac user. Go figure.) Anyway, those all sound like good suggestions (I've thought about Mass Effect and Elder Scrolls). Keep them coming. Although SC4 and ES will likely keep me busy for a while. -jay | |
